Night's Secrets

Some say that night grows colder
With every passing moon,
That night doth stand for darkness
Filled with eternal gloom.

 Some say that night keeps secrets
Of evils tucked away
In its overwhelming blackness,
And only by the light, can be kept at bay.

 Some say these creatures are fatal;
They thirst for a living soul,
And where their hearts are supposed to be
Instead exists
A void, vacant hole.

I said the night was misunderstood,
Believed those creatures to be simply fake,
But the past is lost between blurred lines
Clearly, I have made a grave mistake.

 If I could turn back time
I would have listened to what those some did say,
I would have treated those thoughts
as treasures in my mind
Instead of ignorantly thrown them all away.

Some say the night keeps secrets;
That it is a cold and dangerous abyss,
And that the fate of those who do not listen
Will be sealed
By a single bloody kiss.
