seungmin decided to join the school's baseball team because he wanted to get closer to his crush, y/n, and be more productive since his mom is scolding him for being lazy and inactive.

it was after school and the team was doing their daily warmups and small workout before actually playing and practice baseball. seungmin was stretching his legs when y/n walked through the gym doors. he got distracted and didn't realize how long he's been holding his leg until it started hurting and he yelped in pain. y/n heard it and looked over only to smile at seungmin for being so clumsy. after 2 games of baseball, they decided to call it a day.

practice kept continuing like this for a few days until one day seungmin was stopped by a group of boys on the team. they were much more muscular and intimidating than seungmin so he tried not to say nor do anything that can trigger them to punch him. "look at that wimp." one of them muttered to the others as they all surrounded seungmin.

"quit the team!"

"you suck at baseball!"

"why did coach even let you join?"

"you're slow and weak!"

"pathetic."

they all yelled at him as seungmin crouched down getting scared. he let out small whimpers because of how scared he was until he suddenly felt the group of boys breaking up. he slowly looked up only to find y/n walking towards them while throwing a baseball into the air and catching it repeatedly.

"what y'all doing?" y/n asked as i grabbed onto the hand extended out to help me up. 

"n-nothing," one of the boys stuttered as his face turned pink. yuck.

"sure. if i ever hear any of you bring down another person on the same team, i won't hesitate to tell coach and kick you out." y/n threatened them all and the look on their faces was hilarious.

"is it nice being the captain of the team?" seungmin asked as he looked at y/n.

"hmm it has its perks. honestly, i only like being captain because i can boss around all of them without coach yelling at me to shut up constantly." y/n chuckled.

"do you- would you like to hang out later? somewhere after practice?" seungmin hesitantly asked while fiddling with his fingers.

y/n looked up at him and smiled. "i've been waiting for you to ask me that."
