Chapter 17 – Andy’s Arguments and Aggravated Assholes

We were back on the road. Not only because it was the most boring stop yet, but also because Dylan and Seb managed to get us kicked out of the motel in the early morning. They claimed that they didn’t know you weren’t allowed to eat food from the kitchen in four in the morning, but we all knew differently.

After the owner of the dog had finally noticed that the bloody thing had gone missing, he had showed up to save us from the ‘rabid beast’. Alfie’s words, not mine. Lee translated them for the dog owner, but the guy had only laughed.

“Can you turn that crap down?” Dylan asked, leaning between the two front seats. I narrowed my eyes on Lee, who was looking at me nervously in the wing mirror.

“Uh, it’s Andy’s choice. I value my life, thank you very much,” Lee snipped and I grinned, leaning back in the seat. Because Kenzi and Seb had sorted their squabbling out, Hunter and I got to sit in the middle seats with Dylan as Kenzi and Seb took the back two. Not to talk things out, but to make out. A lot.

“Bon Jovi is amazing,” I stated, grinning when the chorus came on and I belted it out. Everyone winced at the awful tone of my voice. Hunter chuckled joining in.

“I don’t value your life that much. Move it,” Dylan muttered, leaning in between the seats to get to the volume dial. Raising my eyebrows at Dylan’s behind, I grinned. He had stretched the seatbelt out the furthest that it could go to get in between and to the radio. I reached down and clicked his seatbelt out of position, making him fall face first onto the gear stick. He yelped like a little girl, flailing his arms.

Alfie cursed and Lee pulled on the wheel, moving us to the side of the road.

“What the fuck was that?” Seb growled from the backseats. I knew full well that there weren’t any proper seatbelts back there, so we’d always left them off when travelling. I looked over the seats to see Seb on top of Kenzi in a heap, her pushing him from her with a grumble.

“The dipshit forgot how to use a seatbelt,” Lee mumbled, glaring at Dylan. Dylan, on the other hand, was staring at me wide eyed, rubbing his forearm.

“I have definitely had enough punishment. I took a gear stick to the face!” Dylan complained, leaning against the seat with narrowed eyes.

“Not all you took to the face, mate. Have you seen your nose?” Alfie asked, peering over his shoulder. Dylan grunted, looking down at his nose, which I had to admit, was squashed against his face a bit.

“Are you all done?” Dylan growled and I chuckled, putting my seatbelt back on.

The ride was interesting. A lot better than it used to be with just the four of us, we never seemed to run out of things to talk about. Granted that half the time we were just teasing Dylan, but it was still a lot nicer than before. Hunter seemed to be getting a little feely and it sounded like Seb and Kenzi were having sex on the backseats.
