A Night To Remember
by sloanranger
Recalls the event true and graphic,
the very best book on Titanic.
Of those that survived
most, still alive,
retell each minute, how tragic.
A Night To Remember by Walter Lord
A mesmerizing book, made all the more so by it being an account of the greatest disaster at sea in modern times.
There is so much more about the Titanic and her story that goes untold in popular media. More importantly, when Lord first wrote his book and published it, in the 1950's, a great many of the survivors were still alive and able to give a first person, minute by minute account of the tragedy. Try to locate a hardcover edition from the library for extra bits about the story - including menus, passenger lists, etc. I don't think you will be disappointed.
