bucky's deadly eyes set on you, standing in front of you in the streets of washington. steve and sam were down, so they were no help to you, and natasha sat behind a van, cradling her shoulder which oozed blood.
your ragged breath filled your ears as you felt one of your eyes beginning to swell from the punch buck had landed.
you knew you were quickly losing this battle with the winter soldier. steve had given you one task. just one.
❝he used to be your husband.all you need to do is get through to him.❞
clenching your teeth, you raised your arms in defence. the solider almost snarled, grabbing his pocket knife before advancing on you.
gasping, you dodged his attacks, managing to smack his hand or wrist away when he slashed at you.
❝buck, stop!❞ you cried, grabbing the blade of his knife when he stabbed at you. you pursed your lips, lipping the scream that threatened to release as the jagged edge bit into your palm.
with a strong tug, you disarmed his knife, rushing forward to press your lips against his. you thought you felt him relax, only for his metal fist to wrap around your throat and hoist you into the air.
a sharp cough left your throat before your body slammed against the pavement, knocking the wind from you.
bucky loomed over you, blue eyes piercing yours. licking your chapped lips, you tasted coppery blood.
❝you...son of a bitch,❞ you barely got out, ❝you know me.❞
in a swift motion, you brought up your legs, managing to wrap your thighs around his neck, and rolling over so you now were on top of him.
squeezing your legs together with as much strength as you could bare, bucky slowly grew unconscious. you watched as his eyes finally fluttered shut.
as if on cue, steve ran over, panting heavily. ❝you got him?❞
also wheezing, you sat back on bucky's stomach, staring at his face.
❝yeah...❞ you puffed, flicking hair out of your face. ❝i got him.❞
