This is our sixth day here in the Philippines when Rocky ate something or maybe the blue moon is up above the sky, talked with me— nicely. We are in the balcony watching the kids— my cousins played in the pool. Jyra and Malik are with them, but they are having fun talking with Mr. and Mrs. Swizz. Aquishia is sleeping in Mrs. Swizz's arm.
Pinaglaruan ko ang aking hawak na Penacolada. "How do you know? You barely talk with him, Rocky."
"I'm a man, Duchess. I know who's the asshole to not. Jameson, Jackson, and Duke were stinky skunks. They were into in between your legs, not to love you."
Tumawa ako. "They are your friends, Rajin Hilton. You know that birds with the same feather flock together."
He shrugged and downed his beer. "Sometimes I am one, but sometimes I know I am not."
"You can be an amateur while Farais is the king of Jerk."
Tumawa siya ng malaglag si Farais sa pool dahil tinulak ni Millicent. "That's my sister!" he cheered.
Maging ako ay natawa. Mukhang hindi maliligo Farais, ang kaso'y nagkamali siya ng napagtripan. Buhat noong Valley Pavillion tinubuan ng bitterness sa katawan si Millicent. Biruin mo na ang bagong gising at gutom, huwag lang ang babaeng bitter.
Hinila ni Clement ang malaking salbabida na Swan at isinuot sa tawa nang tawang si Farais. Nasa ganoon kami ng mahagip ng aking paningin ang papasok na Dodge Challenger mula sa gate.
"It's not him."
Natigilan ako sa sinabi ni Rocky. Mula sa bannister ay sinundan ko ng tingin ang sasakyan. Parehas nga sa unang tingin, pero ng kinatagalan ay napagtanto ko kung sino ang lulan. It's my parents.
Dali-dali akong bumaba upang salubungin sila. Si manong driver nila Millicent ang sumundo sa kanila sa airport.
"Mom! Dad!" Niyakap ko sila at hinalikan sa pisngi.
Sa likod ay nagmano ang mga pinsan ko kabilang sila Jyra at Malik kila Dad. Ang mag-asawang Mr. and Mrs. Swizz ay inaya sa gilid ng pool sila mommy. Sumunod ako roon dahil lumilingkis na ako sa braso ng aking ina.
"How 'bout grandad?"
"Si mommy ang bantay ni Lolo, Duchess," sagot ni Rocky. Nasa kabilang upuan na siya.
Hinalikan ako ni mommy sa noo. "You have plenty of stories, Darling. I saw your picture, where is he? We wanted to meet him."
I frowned. "Picture of what, Mom?"
"Shawn is out of town since yesterday, Tita. He had a special contract there."
I gave Malik a thank you glare. He filled all my curiosity, plus the fact that my parent's nosy sudden appearance was answered. So, the whole photoshoot ideas are bait. My eyes found Farais in the pool.
