Chapter 4 :

Izzy laughed as Brick tried his hardest to kiss her.

She had meant it when she said that things were going too fast.

She knew that Brick was trying to distract her.

But she couldn't help but think about how her father had done her.

She also knew that she wouldn't be able to see Brick after tonight.

There was no doubt her dad has found out about her being gone.

She would get it bad when she got home.

Brick watched Izzy smile.

He knew that she was still thinking about what happened earlier today, so he tried his best to help her forget. At least for a little while.

" Why you won't kiss me doe shordy?" he asked Izzy.

She smiled and sat up.

" Because. Like, ion even know yo name. Yo real name. I know yo birth certificate don't say Brick. And how old are you? How I know you ain't like, 60?" she asked, joking.

Brick laughed.

" If you wanted my name, you coulda been done asked"

" And as for my age, I'm only 22. Look at me, you know damn well ian no older than 25." he added

Izzy nodded.

" And as for your name?"

" Raheem " he said

" Raheem? No middle or last name? I want the full package son!" Izzy said, making him laugh.

" Raheem Deonte Johns. Born and raised in Compton, California. What about you?" he asked

" My full name is Izaela ( i-Zay-Luh ) Dominique Rodriguez." she started

" Born and raised in Houston, Texas. Mother died at the age of 13 due to cancer. Been under the wing of Ricardo ever since." Brick finished

Izzy laughed when she realized what he'd done.

" You did a background check on me." she said

He shrugged, laughing when she punched him in the arm.

" Let's talk on a serious note though." he said

Izzy sighed and sat up against the headboard, pulling her legs to her chest.

" You need to join my team."

Brick didn't feel the need to beat around the bush.

The thought had been heavy on his mind since he meet Izzy in person.

He knew she would be getting what she disserved, and he would treat her right.

" I don't think so"

Izzy didn't like the thought of not working with her father. She loved that man.

He raised her, taught her everything she knew.

It wouldn't be right for her to leave him behind.

He needed her.

She needed him.

" I think it's a good idea. We can be like Bonnie and Clyde. Bringing in big money. I'm already at the top, I just need you by my side. Feel me?"

He knew it would be difficult to get Izzy to realize that this was a great plan, but he wouldn't stop until he had her on his team.

He didn't understand why Ricardo used his own daughter.

For the little while he's known Izzy, he saw that she was a great woman.

She was beautiful in every way.

How could anyone use her?

He knew that when he had her, he would never let her go.

" We should talk about something else." Izzy stated.

She didn't think the day would come that she ever thought of leaving her father behind.

Brick nodded, deciding to drop it for now. But it would come back up soon.

" So what about your parents? You know all about mine." Izzy questioned Brick.

He should have known she would ask.

But he didn't mind sharing his past.

" My parents both died in a car accident, along with my little sister. I was 15 at the time. I was away at a football game. They were leaving from wherever they were, on their way back home. It was a huge pile-up on the freeway." he explained.

Izzy felt bad for him.

He had lost both of his parents, and his little sister.

" I'm sorry..." she mumbled.

Brick shook his head.

" You good shordy. I'm good. "

He pulled her onto his lap.

" What are you doing?" she asked, smiling when he nuzzled his nose into her neck.

She shivered from the impact.

" Holdin my girl, what it look like? "

She laughed.

" I am not yo girl. " she stated.

" Not officially but technically you are. "

Izzy sat back into his chest and decided not to argue.

There was no winning with him.

" Whatever" she mumbled

She decided to just enjoy the rest of the night.

She hated that she led him on, but this would be the last time they ever got to do something like this.

-

Ricardo paced back and forth in Izzy's room.

What was wrong with her?

She had never done anything like this before.

She was getting out of control.

He knew he shouldn't have taken Izzy to the deal with Brick.

He had heard about the young man, but he didn't think that his daughter would fall under his little spell.

Ricardo was pissed.

Brick was not only making his daughter look like a fool, but him, too!

He would make sure to get Izzy as far away from Brick as possible.

He couldn't let Brick take her away.

He needed Izzy.

She was his way out.

His way to the top.
