run away

i was on the news

and in the paper

and on social media

i was only gone for three days

and it stirred up quite a commotion

in my little town

reporters and journalists acted like they cared

for a little girl that ran away

and returned three days later

they didn't really care

they just did that because they needed something to talk about

or else they wouldn't get paid

i answered all the questions

but i never said the truth

i lied and gave them this fake story

i didn't tell them i got stood up at a carnival

and when william didn't show up i broke

i realized he didn't love me

so i ran away because i needed a break

but you can't run away from life
