A few clicks of the mouse, a few deft motions of the wrist, and a few taps of her fingers - and she was in, delving deep into the world of Fanfiction.net, burying herself deeply into the works of her favorite authoress.

She was rudely interrupted when the boy' voice came to her. "What are you doing?"

She sniffed disdainfully, slamming her laptop shut. "I was reading an awesome adventure fic, but you just had to go interrupt me, didn't you?"

The boy looked stricken, then hurt. She felt a twinge of guilt until he said snidely, "Won't people get sued for doing that?"

"Do you not know anything about fanfiction? You fool!"

He raised an eyebrow at that, indicating quotation marks with his fingers. "Fool?"

She glared at him. "Yes, fool. I can't believe - ugh." She shook her head. "All right, people can get sued, that's true. But there's just so many people writing it, plus they're all using pen names and aliases - so it's nearly impossible to track down all these people."

"So why bother looking?"

She nodded. "Exactly." Then she rolled her eyes. "Do you know nothing? You're in several chapters on online writing, for Pete's sake!"

The boy looked stricken again. "Hey, don't break the fourth wall!"

"Sorry, sorry..."
