Interview: mandystache

What can we call you (name)?

Mandy :)

Where are you from?

I'm from Ohio. I've lived here my whole life.

What is your favorite hobby?

I love reading (obviously!). Other than that I am an avid clarinet player.

Coffee or tea?

How about neither? I have never had a drink of either type that I like.

Interesting Fact?

Um. I'm really tall at 5 feet and 11 inches (last I checked- I probably have grown oops).

What book(s) are you reading now?

An Abundance of Katherines by John Green.

Who are your favorite Wattpad authors?

I don't pick favorites usually, but I love FairaTheFangirl and Luciasimonetti

When and why did you start writing?

Well I have loved reading and writing for as long as I can remember. Looking back, though, my stories weren't too good, so I wanted to improve my writing skills. And now here I am!

Is there a specific genre that you like to read/write?

Well not really. I mostly write in realistic fiction, but I have a fantasy story and a Harry Potter fanfiction in the works as well.

What or who inspires you in your work?

A little of everything. Conversations, emotions, that one guy in the park, that song I once heard... everything!

Can you tell us a bit about your current story and why people would want to read it?

Well, first off, it's called Through Their Eyes. It's about a girl who bullies other kids, and when she meets a mysterious lady who gives her a beautiful rock, things change.

By the time some people are reading this, I will probably have started posting my fanfiction, so I'll do that one too. It's called Escape From Home, but I'm not sure if that really fits the story. It's about a muggleborn whose life is turned upside-down when she gets an owl from Hogwarts. How fun, right?

Is there a message for your readers in your work?

In Through Their Eyes, yes. The message, without spoiling anything, is don't bully others.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Write what means something to you at least once. Whether it's poetry or a story and whether or not you share it, put your feelings on paper. It helps with a lot of things. Another thing is don't let the bad comments or reviews get to you. Write what you want!

What was your least favorite book of all time?

Hmm... wow this is really hard because I'm generally good at picking books I love. I'm going to have to go with Les Miserables (don't know where the accent goes oops) by Victor Hugo, simply because it was not a page-turner at all. I couldn't bring myself to read more than a few pages at a time. Don't get me wrong, the musical is one of my favorites, but the book is basically really dull.

What genre do you hate?

Does anybody like nonfiction? No? Didn't think so.

Is there a story that you'd love to read, but hasn't been written (or you haven't found yet)?

Yes and no, because I'm writing it right now!

If any character could come to life, which one would you pick?

Um, do the dead ones count? Hmm.... I actually don't know. I love all the characters!

Do you have a favorite quote from a book (or movie)?

Yes, I have tons. There is one from the movie Somewhere in Time that I especially love, but it's very long and I don't have it memorized.

What is your favorite type of character (physical and personality traits)?

Umm well bravery and intelligence (*cough* not Bella Swan *cough*) are my top two.

Is there anything else you would like add?

Thanks to Viviloana for interviewing and thanks to the readers for reading!
