Chapter 6-

Dimitri's POV:

"Sir...I have received the money from the King and Queen. They send many thanks." One of my apprentices said as he laid a large bag of money on my desk.

"Thank you Florence." I said without looking at him. I saw him nod though and leave my room. What was I doing? Stressing over some girl who was basically one of my clients. But every time I said her name or thought of her...I came to life. I never felt this way ever, through my two hundred years of being dead no woman has ever made me feel this way. No woman I met carried a gun in her well made rack, no woman kept a knife in her boot, a double blade on her thigh, a bow with silver arrows on her back, no woman ever clutched me so tightly after a nightmare.

No woman wore robes with a hood over her head with the tie at the waist tight enough to see the well made curves she possessed. No woman did this to me and this girl wasn't even a vampire. She was human and she had such intelligence and amazing experience in fighting. But I couldn't have her die with me. And I sure wasn't turning her into a vampire so she can live a boring life like me.

I wasn't in the mood to find Collins so I walked the streets. I was given many news papers and heard many conversations.

"Oh have you seen the princess? I swear she is the most gorgeous girl ever! Her blue eyes are like crystals in the sunlight."

"Oh I hear she is so smart and polite. Can you believe she was kidnapped at such a young age? And she's finally home? It shows a mother and father know when a child is theirs."

"Really? I hear they want her to marry some Duke."

"No...I swore it was a prince in Russia or something." I sighed as I walked past these conversations. I walked into a nearby pub and ordered a drink.

"No...the princess is quite the looker. Her skin is the most flawless and clear thing ever."

"You would trade your wife for her?" Someone chuckled.

"In a heartbeat. Only a fool would be crazy enough to let her go." I guess I am a fool.

"Yea but you know she is a princess so...she's probably inexperienced. If you know what I mean." One laughed. I got up angrily and stormed out of the pub leaving gold pieces on the counter. I walked back home thinking if I made the right choice.

I mean yeah I could have changed her into a vampire but then she would have to live the rest of her life with me...and what if she doesn't want that? What if she wants to live her life normally?

As I got back home there was a note left on my desk. In handwriting was my name. I flipped it over and read the handwriting.

Dear Dimitri,

Such a shame that you would let such a beautiful and talented woman out of your sight. Well it is quite good actually because I can come in and fix the broken mess you made. I guess being your apprentice gave me a few tricks up my sleeve, huh? I hope you have fun living by yourself you dirty asshole.

-Michael Lock.

I growled angrily baring my fangs. If Lock touched her I would rip his head off on the spot.

Zedidya's POV:

"Zedidya, meet Michael Lock. He is a Duke from France." My mother smiled.

"I believe we have already met your majesty." He smiled keeping his eyes on me.

"Well...I will leave you two to catch up." I wore a cream couloured ball gown with white gloves that stopped at my wrist.

"Long time no see." I smiled as he placed a hand on my waist and took my other hand in his. I placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Too long as a matter of fact. What was it...two months ago? I told you where Dimitri was hiding? I'm surprised you have not killed him yet."

"He showed me what was really hiding in my so called "family". So I guessed I owed him one."

"So the deal was you wouldn't kill him?"

"Yes, as long as he was telling the truth." I said as we moved back and forth.

"So...a duke from France?" I asked.

"Does that surprise you?" He asked, I saw the sharp fangs poke out from his lips.

"A vampire too?" I whispered.

"Does that surprise you again? I was Dimitri's apprentice. He gave me one favour as long as I promised to leave."

"And that was to become a vampire?"

"Oui, l'amour."

"What does that mean?" I asked smiling.

"Yes, Love." He answered. Dimitri called me "love" and it saddened me hearing it from someone else.

"My apologies if that upset you." He said.

"It did not. If you do not mind me asking. Why are your eyes less...glowy...than Dimitri's?" I asked.

"I was turned, not born; Dimitri was born making him naturally more powerful and dominant. I was turned so I am less powerful and dominant but still ten times more than an average human. Such as yourself."

"I am not an average human."

"Oh vraiment?"

"Oh really?" He asked before I asked what it meant.

"You are going to have to teach me French." I laughed.

"That could be something I could do. If you really wanted to."

"You would do that?" I asked surprised.

"Anything for you, my dear." He promised.

"Sounds like a deal." I smiled.

"One condition...do you know how to speak german?"

"Ja..."

"Some." I laughed.

"I have been picking up on some the last few days. But since I am highly intelligent. I am a fast learner."

"Oh someone's over confident..." He commented.

"Yes I am, considering I was the one who had you pinned agaist the wall in the alleyway."

"It's not everyday a beautiful woman holds a knife to my neck demanding answers. I had to enjoy the moment." I smiled looking away sadly remembering how much Dimitri said I was beautiful.

"Miss Dimitri, my dear?" He asked sweetly. I nodded sadly.

"That is why I am here; to help you forget about him."

"How do you plan on doing that?" I asked.

"Tomorrow I will teach you how to be a proper princess, I will teach you French and see how good you are in German. Sound good?"

"Ja." I answered smiling. He let go of my waist and took my gloved hand and kissed the top lightly.

"Bonne nuit mon cher." He went to say the translation but I stopped him.

"It's nighttime...and I am going to bed..." I said, he nodded encouragingly.

"Good night...my dear?" I asked.

"Well done, mon cher." He smiled approvingly. I gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.

"Gute nacht." I said walking up the stairs.
