I wanted to make Demon into a graphic novel for awhile now. Since posting on Tapas and reading some of those comics, I really, really want to turn Demon into a comic. But I quickly founding out, traditional fine art, which is what I'm going to grad school for, and digital art are two completely different things. Many of my attempts have been half-assed and failed miserably. I'm not a patient person and digital art is so complicated....
So many freakin' layers! Who knew drawing a line would be so hard?
Four years ago, I was alright with it and I was stupid and stopped working at it. I've been trying to get back into it, but it's going to be awhile before anything comes of it.
The best way I learn is through trial and error. I want to do this right, so basically I'm going to be putting my "practice drawings" on here, and I want your input. I know some of you are digital artists and I what your advice on how to improve. If I'm going to put the effort into turning Demon into a graphic novel, I want it to be the best I can make it. My skill level is lacking at the moment.
This is like draft three (after not drawing digital for 4 years, I think it's turned out alright). I had to watch some tutorials on line work, because mine was shit. If any of you have any tips, I'd greatly appreciate it. I was using Krita---nothing was working for me, and I recently bought a Clip Studio program---so much better. Any tips, resources would be great.
(I'm thinking they're looking too "innocent," it's giving old school Disney vibes, rather than werewolf vibes.)
