"My lady, would you allow me the honor of this dance?" Alex asked. With a giggle, Isobel rose from her seat and smoothed her gown. Then, she placed her hand in his.
"Certainly, my gallant knight," she answered with a small bow.
It was Friday night and the clubs were filled to the brim. This one was farther from their university but Alex liked the ambience and the crowd here.
He guided Isobel towards the dance floor just as the music changed. The songs before were all very fast and this new one was slow and sweet.
They looked into each other's eyes and smiled. And then like thousands of times before, she curled into him. They fit together like two puzzle pieces.
"Always remember this song Izzy," he told her.
"Hmm? Why?"
"Because this is our very first dance—the first of many."
