Death. All I could think of was death.

The only feeling I had was the horrifying pain in my upper arm.

Scared to open my eyes I lay here, in pain, listening to the Sheriff.

"How many are there of you?"

"How can you walk in the sun?"

Sheriff went on, and on asking questions, but there never came a answer.

A loud shot came from the place we were in and my eyes shot open, I turned quickly on my side, seeing Damon, screaming.

"Just answer these questions and you'll die quick."

Damon still kept his mouth shut, another bullet was shot, but into Stefans chest.

I quietly gasped but was noticed, Damon glanced over at me and his eyes went toward my bloody arm.

"What the hell Liz? You hurt Kenzie?!" Damon snarled crawling over toward me.

"I don't care if I've known her my whole life, she's a monster."

Damon bit his wrist, bringing the warm liquid to my lips.

Urgently I grabbed ahold of his wrist, letting the liquid drip into my mouth.

After I started feeling better, I pulled away, and was wrapped into Damons arms.

Damon glared at Sheriff, "She isn't a vampire."

She gave a confused look, "I saw her spit the vervain out."

I shook my head frantically, "It just tasted bad!"

I noticed the pain was gone, looking at my arm, there were no marks and I felt much better.

Sheriff took a step back, guilt in her eyes, about to say something but was interrupted by a loud door opening.

I looked around trying to observe my surroundings.

Lockwood cellar, Elena told me about this place, where Werewolves turned.

The jail door opened and a deputy was slammed to the hard cement floor.

I felt Damons embrace tighten as we waited for the mysterious person to come into view.

Elena was that figure frantically running toward us.

"Elena what are you doing here?" Sheriff asked as a deputy tried to grab her.

She got out of his grasp, running toward us.

There was a wisp of wind, as if someone were sprinting around us.

"Who's with you?" Sheriff asked Elena.

Before she could answer, a blonde girl came into view biting a deputy.

As another deputy tried to shoot her, she blocked herself with the dead body.

She sprinted toward the deputy and killed him, blood everywhere.

As she came into I knew exactly who it was, Caroline.

"Hi mom," she said to Liz as blood dripped from her lips

"Hi mom," she said to Liz as blood dripped from her lips.

I couldn't read the Sheriffs emotion, but I could imagine how she felt.

Damon let go of me, crawling toward a dead body, digging his fangs into it and sucking its blood.

I crinkled my nose and saw a movement from Stefan.

Elena kneeled by his side comforting him.

"You need some deputy blood..." Damon said getting to his feet.

I threw my arms at him, expecting for him to help me up.

He rolled his eyes, and grabbed both of my arms helping me to my feet.

I faintly smiled at him but was thrown into a embrace by Elena.

"I'm so glad you're okay," she said pulling away.

I nodded and glanced at Damon, who was approaching Sheriff.

"What am I going to do with you?"

Caroline stood up, "You won't tell anyone right?"

Sheriff looked down, then back up, "I don't know..."

"Please, if you don't he will kill you!" Caroline continued talking about Damon.

Damon nodded, smirking.

"Then kill me!" Sheriff answered.

Damon slowly walked up to her, pinning her against the wall.

"Damon don't you d-" I began but was cut off by him, "I'm not gonna kill her!"

Relief settled me and he continued, "She's my friend."

"Okay lets clean this up..." I muttered about to gag from the blood.

~

"Hey,"' I said, walking into the Salvatore mansion toward Elena and Stefan, as Elena fed Stefan blood.

"Hi," Elena answered getting to her feet.

"I'm gonna clean this up," she continued talking about her hand.

She left the room and Stefan and I were the only ones left.

It stayed quiet and I decided to break the ice.

"This shouldn't be awkward," I started waiting for a response.

He nodded his head, "You're right, we good?" He asked standing up.

He nodded his head, "You're right, we good?" He asked standing up

"Yeah," I said nudging him with a faint smile.

Caroline walked in the room and plopped on the couch.

"You going home?" I questioned sitting next to her.

She shook her head, "I can't, I'm too scared."

I furrowed my eyebrows, "Why?"

She took a deep breath, then Elena walked in sitting down also.

"Katherine will be there, wanting to know what happened today, she's making me spy on you guys!" She continued tears coming to her eyes.

"We know." Elena started, "And we've been so mad at you, but then we put ourselves in your shoes."

I rubbed her back, "Who did she threaten?"

Caroline broke into tears, "Matt!" She managed to get out.

I pulled her into an embrace, "Shh, its okay." I cooed.

In the end, never trust anyone who wants what you got. Friend or no, envy is an overwhelming emotion.

And in this case, Katherine was doing anything she could to get what she wanted, but what did she want?
