As the ominous clouds appear, the bright blue sky darkened in dark gray tint.

The shining sun slowly fades and the world sinks in monochromatic ink.

Gusts of treacherous eastern wind begin to brew.

An old windmill arches in its path, protesting with silent rue.

Anxious people rush in to the protection of their homes,

Closing doors, locking windows and anchoring roofs with stones.

We stand in a clearing, watching the incoming storm.

I brace myself as stronger the force of its power takes form.

You look at me with fear showing clear in your eyes,

Telling me silent, your love and promise are simple lies.

My knees buckle, horror stricken, seeing the end of our time.

You run to your home, severing your hand from mine.

A cry of despair rips my lungs,

A shawl of depression shrouds the empty lands,

And it start to drizzle, then to shower it expands,

Till a dangerous downpour hits the barren sands.

Tears overwhelmingly spring from my blood shutting eyes,

Pain and frustration swirl in dizzying dyes.

Alone and drenched, I face the sea God's wrath.

Alone and cold, I gather the shards of my once soaring heart.
