Without You

"Cupcake?"

"No" I replied absently

"Sweetheart?"

"No"

"Watermelon?"

"God no. Where the hell did that come from?"

"Well I just thought that since your best fruit is watermelon so" MJ replied grumbling

He's trying to find the perfect nickname for me even though I've told him repeatedly that there is no nicknaming this girl

"There has to be something, what sort of boyfriend will I be if I don't nickname my girl?"

"One who actually listens to his 'girl'" I replied making air pulls on girl

"Baby girl?"

"Stop, just stop. First it was funny now its just annoying"

"Sunshine?"

"Well I guess I could live with that"

"Great. I can even call you sunny if I think sunshine is a mouthful" he said grinning

"Don't push your luck" I answered back. We were supposed to be in biology class but Mr Harris the teacher was unable to come to school so we had a substitute who is yet to make an appearance

"Hey sunshine, would you like to come over to my house? Hm that's growing on me."

"I would but my mum is coming back home today so. Hey, how about you come to my house?" I asked because I sure as hell isn't leaving the house until I meet my mother and her new husband who is for sure bringing me a gift home from Bali

"Okay then. We can watch shitty romantic comedies and cuddle" he answered back

"Who are you and what have you done with MJ?

"Very funny. Hey, I still owe you that movie date so see this as me paying back my debt"

"You owe me a lot of things love" Hm, that sounded wrong

He was about to reply when the substitute walked in or more like glided in. She was dressed smartly wearing a red shirt with black blazer and a black skirt with the highest red heels ever with legs that seem to go on for forever, her honey gold hair that is definitely dyed tumbled down to her waist in waves and her make up is on point. She's a very attractive woman.

"Hot damn" MJ whistles slowly along with majority of the boys in class

"Seriously?" I asked unamused

"Hey, only you know my name. Wait, are you jealous?"

"Please" I scoffed

"You totally were. She's pretty good looking, if I want to be in a committed relationship, I'll totally ask her" he answered smugly

"Yeah right like she would ever sink to your level"

"Hey, you're underestimating the extent of which my charm can go"

"I'm not, I think you are overestimating it"

"Shall we put it to test?"

"Fuck off" I grumbled

"Totally jealous" he whispered

                                       ✴
"Mommy, I'm home" I called out loudly the moment I entered the house even though there was no one in sight

"Hey baby, how was school?" mum asked descending down the stairs. You know that married glow people talk about, yup she is sporting that smiling widely
