The night had gone wonderfully for Argorn he had got to dance with a pretty girl (in circumstances Arwen Definatly wouldn't object to) and generally see people had missed. The only not so good thing about it was Legolas' strange behaviour. Mab, he would unravel that today. But he'd better see Arwen first. Just because.
The night hadn't gone so well for Legolas. It was /not/ that he didn't want to see Elwen. In fact that was what he wanted more than anything else in all of middle-earth. What he didn't want to see was Elwen looking worse. And she did. He couldn't bare it anymore. He had tried to help her before but it was getting too much. And the worse thing that can happen you is too spend a long journey convincing yourself that when you get back your love will be better and when you do discover she's got worse.
Especially if that means she would never get better.
