JONATHAN'S POV

I don't now where Mary is. Daniel told me that she was getting ready to start the distraction but that sounded a bit sketchy.
Anyways, Daniel had asked me what I was going to go in as:
A Ground hog
A Gun Menace
An Airborne
Or a Runner

I decided to be a runner since I thought that Mary would be running beside me. Guess I was wrong. The runners clothing was a black t-shirt, some black joggers and any running shoes. I had tied my hair back in a man bun for two reasons:
One, it gets all over my face whenever I run.
Two, because I wanted to look badass.

General Avery: Hey, Jonathan.

As I was getting dressed I heard Avery's voice calling me.

Jonathan: Yea?

I said as I looked up to see her.

Avery: I just came by to tell you that...What your about to do is a big deal. Are you sure you wanna go through with this?

I looked at Avery in the eyes. What if I said No?
I thought to myself about all the things that Mary had done for me and all the times she's been there for me. If this was the only way that she could truely be free... if this was the only way for her to live a normal life...then...

Jonathan: Yea. I do want to go through with this.

Avery: ah ok. Well here you go

She handed me some black running shoes. They had a red strip going all around.

Jonathan: Woah. Thanks!

Avery: their...actually not mine

Jonathan: really? Then who's are these?

Avery: No! I mean that their your shoes but their not my model, hahaha

She gave me a nervous chuckle as she looked at the ground.

Jonathan: then, who's model is this?

Avery: ....Mary's...

Oh shit.

Jonathan: really?

Avery: yea but she won't be needing them anymore

Jonathan: what do you mean?

Avery: Oh no. I-I-I- forget it.

I stepped near her and grabbed her hand. I didn't force her but I kept staring into her eyes.

Jonathan: Tell me.

Avery: I-I...Mary isn't supposed to run anymore.

What the fuck. Why didn't I know anything about this?

Jonathan: what do you mean?

She turned to see me. She looked shocked as if she thought that I knew.

Avery: if she ran like she used to...she-she...might die.

I let go of her arm. I was shacking In fear of losing the one person who ever cared for me.

Jonathan: We can't let her go then-

Avery: Daniel has already taken care of it though.

Jonathan: what did he do?

Before Avery could answer me an alarm went off.

Avery: it's time.

She ran towards the tunnel system as I ran behind her. Everyone was divided into their respective groups. The alarm then shut off once everyone was there. The tunnel system had four different tunnels. I'm guessing one for each group.
