m. Infinity Means Forever
"You're an idiot, you know" Her hand lightly slapped his chest,
exactly where the tattoo was inked: near the heart.
She winced slightly realising her mistake even-though it made
no difference to him. He was still smiling since he saw Ali in his
dress shirt.
"Does it hurt?"
"It can never hurt," Jared laughed once he saw his lover's
confused expression. Lightly, he took her finger and placed it on
the A. "That's you," he told her as he moved her finger to the J,
"And that's me." Jared began to trace the loop of the tattoo with
her fingertip so she could feel every heartbeat - every affect -
she had on him. "We're stuck in this infinity."
Suddenly it stopped. Time, gravity, the rotation of the earth, her
breathing and the movement of her finger - it stopped. But his
heart continued to beat against his ribcages, under the palms
of her now flattened hand.
"Infinity means forever," Jared lifted her hand only to leave a
lingering kiss on the front of her wrist. He could still feel her pulse
against his lips, it left him tingling just like her. "We're forever."
