7 • When he sees

⠀⠀⠀I finally talked to Chloe, it feels great to know that she doesn't hate me. I just wish she could tell me what actually went on. She knew I got in the accident somehow, maybe she just didn't care. The note she left wasn't very nice either.

⠀⠀⠀Getting in my car, I see an ambulance driving past me, Chloe's probably stuck in the traffic now. I start the car and after a few instants I see what I didn't want to. Chloe being carried into the ambulance.

⠀⠀⠀I have been waiting for 3 hours, the sun is up already. Maria must be awake worried about her mom, I wish I could call her.

⠀⠀⠀Interrupting my thoughts, the doctor comes in my direction. I stand up. “Is she okay? Can I talk to her?”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀”Calm down, sir. Chloe is very fragile right now, she just had surgery. She needs one more surgery, but unfortunately we can't provide it here.” The doctor explains.

⠀⠀⠀”Well where can she get it?” I ask.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀”In California there's a very good doctor, he has done surgeries like the one she needs. Chloe has 3 weeks to go there or her life will get complicated.” He warns.

⠀⠀⠀”Okay… Can I see her?”

⠀⠀⠀The doctor sighs. “I'm sorry, but no visits for her tonight. She's still in shock by what happened, she said it herself. She did ask you to take care of her daughter after school.”

⠀⠀⠀I don't know what's worse. Her not wanting me or the fact that tomorrow I'll take care of Maria.
