You don’t know
How it feels
When she wants to say
What she thinks of things
Then you shut her up
As if her words are
Better off held in.
You don’t know
How hard it is
To stop the flow
Of a river
That is her words
Wanting to get out
From lips that shiver.
You don’t know
How bad it hurts
To hold a tongue
That wants to speak
Of the best and worst
To pour her heart out
To someone who’d care.
You don’t know
How frustration
Wears away her soul
Devastates her mind
Turns a stone to coal
Then leaves her way behind
After sucking out
What’s left of her.
It’s hard to know
What she would feel
If her lips are sealed
Head bent down low
What would you know?
When you turned your back
Just when she
Was about to start.
You wouldn’t know
‘Cause you never
Let her speak
For herself
So don’t bother
To be her brother
Because you don’t know.
Not a thing at all.

Poems of the Deep Dark Heart
PoetryThis is a collection of my poems inspired by the novels I've read. Others are inspired by completely different things. Some are sonnets, some are not, some are just out of the blue. © 24CasterXAngel1878, 2008-2012
