Athena's POV & Fifteen Hours Later (December 20)

I woke up to the warmth of Chris' body against mine, his warm breath was blowing against my skin. His arms were around me in a protective fashion and his bare chest hugged my almost bare back. I softly smiled when Chris cuddled his head closer to mine. I was tired because of the rest of the party and me and Chris mating. I keep playing the memory in the back of my head, never wanting to forget the first time I did that with love in my soul. His hand was on my heart and was slowly caressing my collar bone. Chris slowly sat up and laid back down, "Sleeping Beauty," he snickered and I shifted closer, "I love you so damn much, baby. Can we just stay like this a little longer?" his voice was low and husky, very attractive,

"I was just about to ask the same thing," I smiled and held his hand, "and yes we can," I replied. Chris held me tight and put his nose to my nape, "Are we fully mated now?" I asked,

"Not yet. You still have to mark me," he replied and held me tighter,

"How?" 

"The way I did for you," he smirked,

"Well, no duh. But I don't know how to control her," I reminded him,

"Think of your canines growing in, or your claws. Then, she'll listen and come out," I thought of my teeth becoming these long, sharp, vicious chompers but nothing happened. 'Maternal instincts! You could hurt your mate!' Maria scowled at me. I frowned and whispered,

"She doesn't want to come out," I sighed but Chris hugged me tighter and smiled,

"Maybe it wouldn't have been the best time," His lips gently rolled against my neck, "I still love you with my everything," he whispered, leaving tingles down my spine,

"Chris, I can't even tell you how lucky I am for being with you. Without you, I would be gone. Unable to enjoy this life," I paused for a moment, "I'm sorry," Chris tilted his head slightly,

"Why are you sorry?" he caged me between him and the bed,

"I don't think I'm healthy enough to have pups. I wouldn't mind if you went and did it with someone else since I can't and I'm not good enough," My eyes watered and Chris furrowed his brows,

"No way in hell am I fucking someone else! I don't care if you can't have pups, all I need is for you to be here with me," I hugged him tight and his big arms enveloped my body. A tear slipped from one of my eyes and dripped down his back. 

- Two Hours Later

"Heyyyy," Kat sat beside me, almost making me jump, "Come with me!" she pulled me out of Chris' grasp, and out of the living room,

"Where are we going?" I whined sarcastically. She took me to the back,

"So, did you two, you know, bang?" she was smiling and hopping around,

"Nah. We just watched movies," I paused, "No duh!" she held my wrists and jumped,

"I could tell! You two have been awkward all day," I looked down and twiddled my thumbs, "Did you use protection?" I stayed silent and her face dropped, "Wait, so are you pregnant?" I didn't even think of that!

"I doubt it," I whispered, "Can we not talk about this-"

"Talk about what?" Chris came up behind me and placed his hands on my shoulders,

"We were talking about you two," Kat told him. My face flushed and my bones became stiff, 

"Oh, what about?" he looked at me and I tucked by chin to my chest,

"Last night," she cheered. Chris looked at me and mouthed, 'How does she know?' I could tell he was pretty angry, "Who do you think hooked you two up last night?" Chris pulled me into a bathroom, many people were staring at us now. Some cheered, most looked sad or scared. 

"So, you didn't even want that to happen?" he yelled in a hushed tone,

"I did! I just didn't know how. I'm sorry," I whispered,

"You should be! That was important for both of us!" Chris sighed and ran his fingers through his hair,

"Chris, please don't be mad-"

"Shut up!" he pushed me to the wall and burst out, leaving me in tears. I watched as he stomped to his office. Then I snuck into the bedroom, made the bed, took the necklace off and placed it on the dresser, later, I changed into my clothes. I ran downstairs and out the doors, leaving it behind.

My face soaked with tears as the December snow drizzled down. I ran through the forest and away from the house, away from him. Maria was telling me to go back and apologize, but I couldn't. I wiped my tears just to reveal more flowing onto my face. 

Chris' POV

I couldn't believe she would do that to me. Then, someone knocked on the door, "Go!" I growled,

"A-alpha, she's not here anymore," a boy yelled from the other side of the door,

"What do you mean, she's not here!" I threw the lamp off my desk and grabbed the liquor off the shelf,

"Our Luna ran off about a five minutes ago," he hesitantly opened the door and brought surveillance pictures. I looked at them and noticed something in the back,

"What is that?" I pointed to what I saw,

"Looks like a person," He replied. The person's face looked too familiar,

"Leave," I whispered,

"But-"

"Leave!" I warned. He stepped out and shut the door. 'Go look for her! It's your fault' Cole shouted at me. I popped the lid off and downed, at first it burned, then I craved more.

I finished the bottle and was feeling woozy. I walked to the bedroom, hoping to see Athena sitting on the bed. Instead, I found nothing. Some of her clothes and the necklace with a note, 'I apologize' in her cursive writing. I yelled and threw everything everywhere, though not once touching the bed.
