Chris' POV

"Stop it," I resisted my urges to finally mate, "Stop thinking whatever you are," I could smell her. She was thinking something sexual at the moment- it was probably her wolf wanting to mate. I bit my lip and tightened my arm muscles. She pinned me in between her and the seat,

"It's my turn," she whispered before kissing my jawline. I placed my arms around her back and pulled her tighter. A small moan escaped my lips as she sucked on my throat. Her perfectly shaped lips were soft and gentle against my skin. I could recognize that she had no idea what she was doing, but it felt good. Her hands tugged at my hair, it was hot how she was acting so dominant, 

"There's a hotel across the street," the waitress snuck up and stopped Athena. She handed us our food and when I looked at her; her outfit was a lot more revealing, her hair was down and now she was wearing red lipstick. I rolled my eyes and sighed, "Enjoy," her eyes met mine and she winked. Athena tried to growl, but she didn't know how yet. I almost laughed but held it in,

"Baby, you're all I see. Don't worry," I reminded Athena, then she snuggled closer to me and we ate. I could tell she was proud of 'marking' me.

We finished eating and hopped in my truck, "I have a surprise for you," I held onto her thigh as I drove to my spot- the cliff that hangs over the town,

"Chris," she spoke softly,

"Yeah?" I asked,

"I just want to thank you. Again," she put her hand on mine, "I don't think I would still be alive if you hadn't come along," 

"Athena, don't think like that-" 

"It's true! The following weekend, I was thinking of ending it all," her words struck my heart and almost left me speechless, "But then, you came along and helped me find happiness. I truly love you and I can't bear to be without you," tears glistened in her eyes,

"You've corrected me too,"

"How?" she asked,

"I used to be angry all of the time. Drunk most of it. Normally wolves find their mates around fifteen to nineteen, and if not at all. You're seventeen and I'm nineteen. My father gave up the Alpha role when I was eighteen. I had absolutely no idea what to do without a Luna with me. So, I made friends. The bad kind. They forced me to drink, smoke, fuck and do drugs. The day you ran into me in the halls, I would've just drunk that afternoon. I'm not an alcoholic, but when I fuck up, I drink. Ever since you came along, I've been clean. I don't do bad things when I am drunk though, normally I'm just tired and goofy. I used to be broken, but you fixed me. Athena, I love you and I always will. I don't care if you will hate me in the future, I will continue to love you," my voice was shaking and Athena's tears dropped onto my hand,

"I-I didn't know... I'm sorry," she whispered as tears came out of her eyes, "Can I tell you a secret?" her voice was so soft, I could barely hear it,

"Anything," 

"One time, when I was thirteen, my father- he raped me. Ten weeks later, I became sicker and bloated. I was pregnant. He got mad when I told him, so he kicked me in the stomach repeatedly for over twenty minutes. I still wanted the child. But, I ended up having a miscarriage. I haven't been the same since. It was supposed to be a little girl," I pulled over and looked in her eyes, I swear I could see the stars in them. I wiped her tears and cupped her cheek,

"Athena," I murmured, "That fucker can't touch you. He's under 24-hour surveillance. I promise he can't touch you ever again," I paused for a moment, "And if he does. He'll get what's coming to him,"

"T-Thank you," I jumped out of the truck and opened her door. Athena immediately wrapped her arms around my neck and cried heavily. I didn't even know I was crying until the salty liquid came from my eyes, onto my lips,

"Baby girl, you're a warrior. Now you have thicker skin, you're stronger than you've ever been," I held her tightly in my embrace as the cold December snow drizzled. It felt right to have her in my hold. I didn't want to believe that she was supposed to be a mother, but the mother of our pups only. She slowly pulled away and her small hands held my face, wiping tears away. She gave another breathtaking smile as her eyes found mine. They closed and more tears fell out of her captivating brown orbs,

"It feels nice to have that burden lifted off my chest," she looked back up and stood on her tiptoes, "Can we dance again? It was fun," her bottom lip quivered. I smiled as I remembered the dance, gentle and sweet,

"Of course, Milady," I lent my hand out and she accepted it. We stepped further into the trees and I placed my hands on her hips, she set her arms around my neck. We slowly moved our feet as she laid against my chest. Athena took a deep breath, then hugged me tighter. 

- Athena's POV

I briefly woke up as I was being carried. I was awake but I couldn't open my eyes and I couldn't move. I was being taken upstairs and a door creaked open, then I was placed onto a bed, Chris' bed. My jeans slowly came off and were replaced with warm, soft pajama pants. I was lifted up and my long-sleeved shirt was gently pulled off. I was left in a bra for nearly two minutes before he came back with his amazing smelling shirts. It went over my head, then he tenderly kissed my stomach as the shirt went down. The bed shifted, at my back, and his strong arms wrapped around me, "Don't worry baby, they can't touch you again- I won't let them," he whispered. I slowly let the darkness consume me once again.
