-Hoseok's POV-

I was on my way to lessons when I saw Eve doing something suspicious to someone's locker, so I decided to keep a look out for her.

She opened the locker and found a crumpled piece of paper. She unfolded it as I squinted my eyes to get a better look. What was that! Those were the test answers! Now it all clicked into my mind, this year's top student, Min Yoongi, cheated on his Exams.

Suddenly, Yoongi appeared and dragged Eve away into a room. I followed them while trying to open the door but it was locked. I took a piece of metal that was in my pocket and tried to unlock the door, afraid that something might happen to Eve. I promised I would protect her...

"Hurry..." I mumbled to myself as I heard screams and groans in the room, but still unable to unlock the door.

Click!

The door unlocked as I pushed it open, only to reveal Eve lying the ground while Yoongi tried to kick her. Without hesitation, I punched Yoongi in the face and held Eve up.

I looked at her in concern.

"EVE! I'll bring you to the nurse office, come on!" I said and carried her bridal style.

We quickly arrived at the nurse office and the nurse treated her. I stayed by her side the whole time, not wanting to take my eyes off her.

I felt myself melting...I felt myself breathing heavily...I felt a tingling sensation in my heart...

I looked at Eve. The injured Eve. I never wanted to steal her place as the Sunshine, I never wanted to make her feel bad, I never wanted to hurt her. She was like an angel to me, but she slowly started to fade away. Was all of this because of...

Me?

I caressed her cheeks as she was already sleeping after the nurse treated her injury. Also, I had told the principal about Yoongi. He was treated too but punished afterwards. Served him right though.

"Ho...Hoseok?" Eve's weak voice called out for me as I turned my head towards her.

"Oh Eve! You're awake? How are you feeling?" I asked her.

"I'm fine and... Thank you Hoseok," she smiled.

I blushed a little as her smile was not like her normal bubbly smile, it was more of an angelic smile.

I scratched the back of my head and replied, "Ah...no problem, we made a deal right?"

"But Hoseok, I'm still not forgiving you yet," her smile faded as my heart sank. At least she said Yet. However... How long was this going to go on? Must I wait eternity for her to forgive me? Hoseok, believe in yourself!

"Please Eve," I begged her. "Please just be my friend, I never wanted to hurt your feelings or ruin your reputation or anything!" I confessed all my thoughts, hoping she would forgive me.

-Eve's POV-

I thought about Hoseok words. I was definitely grateful to him for saving me today but... Would I forgive him for stealing my place as the Sunshine? Well that was definitely a no. However, my heart was asking me to forgive him... It was as if he warmed up my heart and melted it...

I think I could perhaps give him a chance?

"Well Hoseok, what about this. If in the next semester, you do five things that are useful to me or make me feel better, I'll be your friend and forgive you. Including this incident," I said and have him a warm smile.

Well, there was something I don't really understand...was he doing all of this for be just to be my friend?

Not wanting my brain cells to die, I decided to just rest.

"Of course!" Hoseok said and smiled back. My cheeks were getting hotter for some reasons, but I quickly covered it.

-Time skip to after school-

The bell rang as I stood up to leave the nurse office.

"Thank you for taking care of me!" I smiled to the nurse as she smiled back. I was going to pick up my bag when I heard a shrill scream.

"Eve!!!!!!!" Hoseok came running into the nurse office as he insisted on helping me to take any bag.

"It's okay Hoseok I can do it myself!" I said and tried to get my bag back.

"Just let me help you Eve, you still need some rest!" He said and ran out of the nurse office. I followed that stubborn little boy, still asking for my bag.

"Yah give me my bag!" I ran after Hoseok and pulled the string of my bag. However, he still never let go.

"Give it back, I can carry it on m-" I repeated for the hundredth time but was cut off as Hoseok tripped. Pulling the bag, together with me, onto the ground.

I landed above him as our eyes met, our faces not even two inches apart...
