Part 9:
"Hello, Rani sahiba" Shyam's voice came from the other side
"Shyam ji" Anjali whispered, her eyebrows furrowed with confusion. Her mind went to morning phone call to Khushi's house.
"Rani sahiba... Hello are you there?" Shyam asked again with little high pitched voice.
"Ha... ha... Shyam ji... I'm here. Just drinking the water. Tell me, how are you? And when are you coming home?" she asked shrugging her confusion. She shook her head feeling silly about her doubts and confusions.
"I'm fine Rani Sahiba... how are you and my rajkumari? And about coming back home, I'm trying to come as soon as I can. But you know my work, right? I'm missing you so much" he dragged his voice making it sound like desire
Anjali blushed little imagining his desire filled eyes.
"Me too Shyam ji. Please come soon"
"By the way, did your Khushi come?" Shyam asked, not able to control his curiosity. He is worried about Anjali asking Khushi about the man who answered the phone in the morning.
Anjali's expression changed into confusion again "Why are you asking about Khushi?" she asked "Why are you so interested whether she came or not?"
"Interested? What are you talking Rani Sahiba? Why would I have interest in a mere employee? Are you doubting me Rani Sahiba? I'm asking about her because, you are sounding dull and being your caretaker, she should be with you to take care of you" he talked more than necessary
"Hmm... okay... no she didn't come yet, I'm waiting for her"
"You should be strict with her Rani Sahiba. How can she be this irresponsible? Don't she know that she should be with you at time?" Shyam is so eager to cover his mistake
"Shyam ji... why are you getting this much angry on Khushi today? Her timings are 9-6. It's just 8 now. She will come by time"
"But you wanted to go to orphanage early, right?"
"Who told you that?" Anjali is taken aback with his question. She decided about going to orphanage at yesterday evening and she is sure that she didn't mention about it to him when they talked.
"Um... Saale sahib... I mean Arnav... he told me this morning. Okay, Rani sahiba I need to go now. Will talk to you later. You please take care" with that Shyam kept the call cursing himself
Anjali looked at the phone in her hand. Her face still contains the confusion
