Josh knocked on the door and let go of my hand, wiping his sweaty ones on his jeans. I heard someone coming closer and I looked at him, only to find him looking at me. I took his hand and squeezed it. 'It'll be okay.' I mouthed. He nodded and I smiled.

"I love you no matter what." I whispered. Josh repeated my words and the door opened. I saw his mom standing there, an apron covering her chest. Flour littered the navy fabric, some hand marks and some just little dots.

She looked up and saw us. She hugged Josh and kissed his cheeks, making me let go of his hand. "I missed you so much, darling."

"I missed you, too, mom."
