Joseph and His Dream

Once there was
A little boy
Who had a dream
That brought him joy

But his family
Did not share
In the joy and glee
But instead sneer and snare

So the little one
Was thrown
And taken
By the plan of his brethren

Brought to another land
And declared dead in his own land
He moved on to serve a captain
And became a successful man

But a time of test
Came and made arrest
Even though he was innocent
To prison he was sent

Though imprisoned
He was faithful
Trusting the Lord
And living peaceful

Then one day
An opportunity came
For him to say
And interpret the dream

Though he had given
He was forgotten
And continued imprisoned
Until another interpretation

Finally the king
Needed something
He could not understand the dream
Which God had given to him

So Joseph was
Summoned by the king
For he was
The only one who could help the king

The interpretation
Was given
By the Lord's instruction
And Joseph's status was instantly heightened

Fulfilling the dream
That was given to him
When he was a boy
And brought him joy

But still one thing lacked
Despite being second in command
He needed to connect
With his family and brethren

A famine brought
The family together
Forgiving the past
And living together

For though his brothers
Meant it for evil
Joseph did not take it to heart
For he knew that it was God's Will
