My Brother's Best Friend

I woke up and did my daily routine. I put on a black long sleeve crop top and white jeans. I put on my black and white converse then threw my hair in a bun. I grabbed my things and walked downstairs. "Morning everyone." I said. "Good morning." Ryan said. We walked out and got in Carter's car. Carter drove off and I plugged in my ear buds. I played Bridges by Broods and hummed along to the song.

We got to school and got out. I saw Julian holding this Hispanic girl by the waist while whispering something in her ear. I rolled my eyes and walked over to Quinn. "Mission make my crush jealous is on and it starts now!" I said. She squealed and gave me a high five. I walked over to Dylan and hugged him.

"Woah." He chuckled. He hugged me back and I looked up at him. "Morning." I smiled. "Morning, why did you hug me?" He asked. "Just felt like hugging ya." I said and he chuckled. "So, where do you wanna go Saturday?" He asked. "Surprise me." I said. He nodded and I hugged him again.

"Your stomach is nice." He whispered and I blushed. He buried his face in my neck and sniffed. "Mmm vanilla." He said. I chuckled and we looked at each other. He has really pretty eyes. "Sinead time to go to class." Quinn said. I pulled away from Dylan and winked at him. We walked to class. Once we got there we sat down and she had a straight face.

"He didn't do anything, he was too busy with Aleena." She said. "Great." I said. "I guess he really doesn't like me." I sighed. "Don't say that he almost kissed you!" She said. "I was probably just gonna be a fling." I sighed then put my head down.

"It'll be okay." She said and I nodded. I picked my head up and saw this pretty girl with cotton candy pink hair and blue eyes. "Uh hi, do y'all mind if I sit with you guys?" She asked. "Not at all." I said. She smiled and sat down. "What's your name?"  I asked. "Harper." She said. "I like that name." Quinn smiled and I agreed. "You guys are cool." She said. "Thanks." I said. She may be my new friend.

Its lunch time and Harper and I walked to the table after getting cheeseburgers. Julian is there with that Hispanic girl and I could feel the jealousy boiling. We sat down and Quinn sat beside me. "Who's this?" Adrian asked.

"This is our new friend Harper, Harper this is my brother Carter and his friends Ryan and Adrian, along with this tart named Julian and this girl I don't know." I said. "I'm Aleena." The girl replied. "Nice to meet all of y'all." Harper smiled then we started eating.

"So there's football practice today are y'all gonna stay?" Carter asked. "No, we have to get Harper a costume for the Halloween dance." I said. "Oh." He said. "Yep." Quinn replied. I finished eating and threw my trash away. "I'll see you guys later." I said then left. I am so upset. Julian hasn't even acknowledged me all day and he was basically leading me on for the past couple days.

I walked into the janitors closet and closed the door. I turned on the light and sighed. "You're not his girlfriend, its not your place to get mad." I repeated to myself until the bell rung.

Once school was over I met up with Quinn and Harper in the parking lot. We hopped in Quinn's car and she drove off. I played Fantasy by Alina Baraz and Quinn and I sung along. "How long have you two been friends?" Harper asked. "Only two weeks because Sinead just moved to the country." Quinn said. "Oh cool, where from?" She asked. "Ireland." I said. "That explain the accent." She replied and I nodded.

We pulled up at the costume shop and got out. We walked inside and started looking for costumes. I held up a swimwear costume but she turned that down. Quinn held up one and she turned that down. I hope we won't be here all day because I really want ice cream. "What about a sailor?" I asked. "Uh, sure." She said. I handed her the costume and the accessories. She paid and we left.

"You guys want ice cream?" Quinn asked. "Yes!" We said. She chuckled and continued driving. We got to the ice cream parlor and walked over to the counter. "What can I get you pretty ladies?" The cashier asked. "Vanilla in a bowl." Quinn said. "Chocolate in a bowl." Harper replied. "And I'd like oreo in a bowl." I said. He nodded and started getting our ice cream.

Once he handed it to us we paid and went to sit down. "So Harper, tell us about yourself." Quinn said. "Well I just moved here Saturday from Ohio, I have five brothers and all of them are older than me, I am a Pisces so I'm very emotional." She said. "Oh wow, I'm a Cancer." I replied. "Scorpio over here." Quinn smiled. "Cool we're all water signs." Harper said. I nodded and we continued to eat.

"Do any of y'all date one of the guys?" She asked. "No, but I have a crush on the tart and Quinn likes my brother." I said. "Oh, aww." She smiled. "Do they like y'all back?" She asked. "We don't know." Quinn replied. I sighed and nodded. "Boys." She mumbled. We finished our ice cream then left. We dropped Harper off at her house then Quinn took me home. I walked into my house and greeted my dad.

I went to my room and changed. I plopped on my bed then started watch stranger things on Netflix. Today has been a long day.
