Destined To Be With You

Chapter 6

Ben's phone rang and when he saw the caller ID he answered it using the bluetooth installed in his car. 

"Kathryn" he answered formally. Liv looked at him weirdly. She never understood why he greeted his sister that way. And even though his voice was serious he was smiling.

"Benjamin" Kat replied formally too. 

Liv couldn't stand the seriousness so she chirped, "Hey Rynnie!" 

Immediately, Kat's tone changed into a sing song one, "Livvy bear, is that you?" 

Liv noticed Ben roll his eyes. While Liv didn't understand the way he and his sister greeted each other, Ben couldn't understand the way she greeted his sister. It's like the two women brought out the immature childlike spirit in each other. "Yep!" Liv said happily. 

"Oh how are you? I haven't spoken to you since last month! And then I find out you're having my brothers baby. What the hell!" 

Liv chuckled, "Yeah, I'm sorry. It's all really complicated but yes, I'm having your brothers baby." 

"This is all just too weird." Kat said quietly. 

"Tell me about it." Ben muttered and added, "Is there a reason why you called, Kathryn?"

"Oh yeah! I was just calling to make sure it was okay to come visit the last week of next month?"

"Of course it is. You're always welcome, idiot." 

"Thanks jerk." Kat laughed,  "Anyway I'll be flying straight over from my business trip to Vegas so I'll be needing more clothes." 

Ben groaned, "Kat, just bring more clothes. Quit treating Liv like your very own seamstress or shall I say sweat shop." 

"I don't treat her like that! She likes making me clothes. If anything I'm providing her with joy and happiness." Kat defended.

Liv decided to interjected, "Don't worry about it, Rynnie. I've got some stuff I know you'll love." 

Ben turned his head to her while they were at a stop light and said, "But you're pregnant and you're on bedrest. You don't have to make her clothes." 

"I'm pregnant?!?!" Liv said sarcastically earning a head shake from Ben, "I know I'm on bedrest. I already have some clothes made. She just needs to bring her butt over here to get them. When will you be here Rynnie?" 

"25th of June Monday to 1st of July Sunday" 

"Oh perfect, you'll be here for the baby shower"

"Sweet! I think I might get my niece a pair of furry pink dice to hang above her mobile!" Kat said excitedly. 

"Great idea, Kathryn. You'll have our daughter wanting to party in Vegas before she turns 5." Ben chuckled, "Anyway, we got to go. We have an appointment." 

"Okay, okay. Bye Benjamin! Bye Livvy bear!" 

She hung up and Liv laughed, "I love your sister." 

"Yeah, and I don't know why." Ben sighed but couldn't help the smirk that graced his lips. 

Dr. Wooden came into the room with a clipboard in hand smiling warmly, "Hey you two, how are you doing today?" 

Ben and Liv looked at her and both replied, "Good." 

She thoroughly washed her hands and got on with the check up. Everything with the baby was fine. Her heartbeat was strong and she was already moving into a head down position. Dr. Wooden even took Liv off bedrest. Although Dr. Wooden assured Liv that the baby was healthy and okay Ben could see the worry and anxiety on her face. He didn't know how to help her.
