And I apologize in advance for this sucky chapter. I wrote it pretty quick and didn't even proofread it so just bare with me.

I hope you like this chapter.

Enjoy!

My Quarterback - 14

Colton Davis

Asher and I were sat in Coach's office neither one of us speaking to the other. Coach had yet to arrive and Asher kept glancing towards me looking as if he wanted to speak but never doing so. We had been sat in here for fifteen minutes when Asher turns to me and says, "Can't we just forget what happened and pretend we're okay when coach comes in?"

"No, we can't forget." I say to him crossing my arms over my chest. "I can't just forget about what you were doing to Ellie."

"okay, don't forget just forgive."

"I can't do that either. She's the most amazing girl ever and you were just using her for your own needs. I can't even forgive you, much less pretend I do."

"Then how do you two expect to play together this season?" Coach asked coming in from behind us and taking a seat at his desk. "Colton I know Ellie is special to you and I know you are protective of her but what did Asher do to piss you off?"

I glance towards Asher who was pleading with his eyes that I don't tell coach. "It's nothing coach. We're good now."

"Are you positive?" He questioned us and we both nod our heads. "Consequence is twenty-five stadiums better get to them."

Asher and I stand from the seats and exit Coach's office, heading straight to the bleachers and beginning to do our consequence.

"Why'd you do that?" was the first thing that came out of Asher's mouth as we finished our final stadium.

"I'm a captain and I'm the quarterback. You are an asshole and I hate you for what you did to Ellie and there is no chance of us ever being friends again. But we're on the same team and what happened between you and Ellie doesn't leave the three of us. You don't tell anyone and I won't tell anyone." I told him.

"When we're on this field," I began. "We're teammates and teammates forget about what happened outside the field and focus on what is happening on it. So when I throw you the goddamn ball, I expect you to catch it. Alright?"

Asher just nodded his head and gave me a grateful smile.

"Thanks Captain." I nodded my head and he jogged off towards the locker room. The rest of the team had already left, seeing as practice ended an hour ago. But I didn't go towards the locker room, I went straight for the bench where Ellie was sitting.

"I already know." She spoke as I sat down next to her. "I know what you did in Coach's office. And as much as I wanted you to beat the shit out of him, I'm glad you didn't rat him out to coach."

"And why's that?" I asked her.

"Because he may be a douche of a man, but he's one hell of a football player."

I nodded in agreement and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. But immediately she scrunched her nose up in disgust and pushed my arm off of her shoulder. "You smell Colt, go take a shower." She pointed her finger towards the locker room and I just smiled at her.

Just kiss her, Nick's voice circled my mind. I considered it for a minute, connecting our lips. She stared up at me with a questioning glance, and I wanted nothing more than to kiss her, but I couldn't. I shook my head and stood from the bench.
