Himoko's POV

After the small feast, which only lasted ten minutes for me considering I was still somewhat full from the breakfast we had earlier, I headed back out into the city, brushing by bystanders. I began to think about why the avatar was here in this city, why did he even come to Omashu if he has already mastered all four elements? But, he is a kid, around 12 years old, and what I have learned from Karlie is that it takes years of discipline to master all four elements, meaning if he really has mastered them in 12 years, it's impossible. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, my mind thinking back to the four families of airbenders, including my great grand-parents, that escaped from the raid of the fire nation 100 years ago. There was only four families, I'm sure of that because my grandfather told me himself before he died of natural causes. Four families, and I'm the last of them. I have been the Last Airbender for 15 years but to find out that a boy who is 12 years old is just plain unbelievable. There must be something that I'm missing from this context. But what is it?

"Princess, you aren't supposed to be roaming the streets out here alone, you know this." One of the guards on patrol stopped, side stepping in front of me causing me to stop in a halt. I narrowed my eyes slightly, noting the fact that he seemed a lot younger than any other guards I have conversed myself with or even seen for the matter

"I can very well take care of myself, no worries."

"I very well know of this but what if someone would try to take you away? There has been an rise of chi blockers nowadays, it's not safe." I blinked rapidly in confusion, how does he know I'm a bender? That classified information has never reached the public. Only Pappy, Karlie, and the guard who saved me after my home was burned to the ground knows this. I lightly felt the small knife in my left pocket, knowing I could use it if needed

"Chi blockers are only used against benders, I'm a non-bender-" I stated calmly only to be caught off when he roughly grabbed my wrist and pulled me away from the prying eyes of bystanders into an alleyway

"What the hel-"

"No such foul words shouldn't come out of a princess's mouth."

"Hmph. How the freak do you know that I'm-"

"Your training with Lady Karlie, of course us guardsmen were told that it was self-defense training-"

"Incorrect. Only the staff at the castle and the guardsmen stationed within the castle were notified. Fess up now and you will not regret it." He sighed heavily, shaking his head

"Very well." He let go of my wrist, looking around in case someone was spying on our conversation before taking off his helmet, revealing a striking young man with pale white skin and jet black hair with green eyes. My instant thought, based on his appearance except for the eyes were fire nation, run now or die inevitably

"What the duck?!" I yelled and he shooshed me, placing his hand over my mouth which I slapped away

"Quiet! Yes I know I do-"

"Look like fire nation, pfft could have fooled me." He rolled his eyes and I crossed my arms, staring back at him

"Look. I'm part fire nation. My mom was from there and my dad lives in a small village called Tu-ion in the Earth Kingdom."

"How did you even get in the guard's department?! Security has been tight since the rumors of the avatar being alive started." I asked him suspiciously

"I have been here for a month, hiding in plain site. I'm here to warn you-"

"About what?" I asked him cutting him off rudely

"-About the plans the fire nation have for the last two standing kingdoms in the Earth Kingdom, Ba Sing Se and Omashu." He told me with slight irritation and I sighed, rubbing my temples

"We already know about their pla-"

"No, their plans are much more extravagant than you think. If you would just stop being stubborn and listen to me!"

"Kinda hard to! Why did you just go straight to my grandfather and not pull me into a alleyway."

"Yeah sure! I would love to know how that conversation would pan out. 'Hello your majesty, I'm Adrian Half-Fire Nation, Half Earth-Kingdom! I have some lovely news from the fire lord-'." He stated dryly and I groaned

"Okay fine! But you could have done this with a much better approach!"

"I'm running out of time! The guards here are already suspecting me to be an imposter-" I snorted unattractively and he glared at me, "-I couldn't think of any other way in such a short amount of time, I was only left with one option. Contact you directly." We both fell silent, tired of each other already. I don't understand why I got so aggressive when speaking to him, but he is unnerving and untrustworthy as of right now so that could be apart of it. We both pushed each other's buttons wrongly, causing both of us just wanting to deck it out in the alleyway until one of us is pummeled until no recognition is seen. I let out a sigh, running my hand through my unruly dark hair

"Fine. Talk."

"Thank you, princess. Finally..." I heard him mutter under his breath at the end causing me to arch an eyebrow at him

"They decided which kingdom to take control of first. Omashu is the first to be planned of taking over, and once they do it will be when everyone is least expecting it, when this place is most vulnerable I should say." I nodded, urging him to continue

"The means of taking over is capturing you and your grandfather, possibly even Karlie. If this happens in the span of 1-3 months, which is what I believe they are most likely to attack. You must leave Omashu." My mouth dropped in shock, eyes wide in confusion

"Leave Omashu?! My home?!" I asked him and he nodded

"IF they only capture King Bumi, it will be easier to take back Omashu by all means necessary because him and the people of Omashu won't have to worry about your well being. One: Because King Bumi cares deeply for you and would be overwhelmed in guilt if something was to ever happen to you. Two: Only a select few know that you're a bender and will disregard you when it comes to battle, meaning putting their lives on the line for you instead of their home."

"I can't just up and leave-" I stopped for a moment, realizing I don't remember the name he stated a few minutes ago, my mind going blank, "-Adrian." He finished for me with a light chuckle at my dumbfounded expression

"If I leave with no answer as to why will only cause panic and vulnerability. I have to have a means of leaving that will be able to make more public rather than because, 'My kingdom is doomed for all eternity if I don't leave.'." He groaned tiredly, shaking his head

"Sassing Princess."

"I try."

"Alright... I gotta go and finish my rounds, I have been gone for long enough. I will hopefully see you again, Princess Himoko."

"Call me Himoko, it's far to formal for my liking." I told him and saw a hint of a smile before he placed his helmet back on, only his golden eyes being able to be seen

"Farewell, Himoko."

To Be continued

Hello! So, Happy New Year? XD, that was two weeks ago what am I doing with my life. Sorry for being gone for most of 2017, I started a new book over on Quotev recently and have been trying to finish up with another and get back into the flow of writing some of my older works. Plus, school, that's a major thing in the life of a High School Student XD. Anyways, I hope all of you guys enjoyed the chapter and should we trust Adrian? And, what do you think which element Adrian bends or if he doesn't bend at all? Remember, he is a mix between Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom so equal chance on both sides and a tiny chance of not being a bender at all. Thank you all for reading and I will talk to you guys later! -Golden
