                                                     Chapter Seventeen: Bitter Dreams.

'Who the fucking hell are you, Leon?" Blake murmured in amazement as Leon nodded to a guard as he drove the car past a pair of gates that had been drawn back. Leon had brought the group to an area where a brilliant mansion stood in all its glory, a midst's a rolling set of hills. The mansion was barricaded from the rest of the world by a looming wall, medieval gates and a thousand guards. Leon had spoken to one of the guards, had his thumb scanned and typed in a keypad before they had allowed them to enter.

Leon chuckled dryly as Blake's remark floated to him. "Man,"  Harry whistled lowly as he ran his fingers threw his mane of curls, "This, this place is freaking amazing." The door pulled to a stop before a pair of large wooden doors. "Everybody, get out," Leon said, "We're here."

"Scan the surroundings," Voice Of Reason prodded Vivanna and she did just that. Her dark eyes drank in the rich and vibrant components of Leon's lifestyle. Blake's question rang in her ears and she couldn't help but wonder the same thing.

Who, indeed, was Leon Colton?

Vivanna glanced at Rhonda and Thalia, who were stuck in a trance of sorts, and felt guilt seep under her skin. She dragged them into this, she brought them here.

I ruined their lives, Vivanna thought sadly and felt Blake's piercing gaze penetrate through her. She looked up at him and almost heard him speaking his silent message in her mind, "Don't blame yourself for something that was inevitable.

Was it though? Was it inevitable? Because Vivanna sure didn't think so.

Everyone slowly piled out of the car. Rhonda was helped by Harry, and Thalia was practically pulled out of the car by Blake who was gazing at her with concern. A guard guarding the door murmured into his ear piece, and suddenly the wooden doors were pulled open, and a balding man who was garbed in articles worn by a butler ran out towards Leon. "Mr Colton, sir," he spoke with a slightly lilt in his voice, 'Would you like for me to ask the Chef to prepare a meal for you and your friends?"

Leon threw a glance at Vivanna before looking at the Butler, "Yeah, prepare some rooms to while you're at it," he commanded the man, "Oh, and father cannot know about this." Vivanna caught a flash of green being passed between Leon and the butler and frowned. Leon was bribing him  to keep them a secret? Why?

"Peterson," Leon informed the Butler, "I hope you heard me."Peterson slipped the wad of cash into his pocket, "Certainly, sir," he grinned, "Follow me."

                                                           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To say that Leon's house was much more grand on the inside than it was on the outside, would be an understatement. With it's golden tapestry, modern furniture yet seemingly ancient portraits, there was certainly some kind of timeless glow to the structure. Vivanna remembered being inside the house, but she'd never readily entered it and never seen how the entrance or many lavish living rooms had looked. Leon plopped into one of the couches of one of the living rooms and Peterson excused himself to in order to inform the chef to prepare a meal.
"So, how's it going?" Harry's words seemed to have triggered something in Thalia and Rhonda that broke there trance for one minute the pair sat gazing at absolutely nothing and the next both of them suddenly burst. Rhonda gasped, with her hands flying to her mouth and her eyes brimming with tears; Thalia's eyes widened and her mouth opened as shut as if she tried to piece words together. A single emotion seemed to have etched onto both of their faces:
