Dear Bonny Boy, I’ve seen it now,

'oor treehouse way up high.

An’ I can’t wait to take ‘oor vows

an’ give ‘oor love a try.

Me Mam will throw us quite a bash,

inviting all ‘oor friends.

The scotch’ll flow and liquor plash,

they’ll hope it never ends.

There is one thing ye’ve not done,

my sweet and bonny lad,

ye’ve got to ask me Papa, soon,

if my hand, it can be had?

Of him, I know, I’ve not much spoke,

the dear and canny man;

a dear, but rascally sort of bloke,

likes a drink now, when he can.

But I know he’ll love ye bonny boy,

of that I am verra sure.

If he asks, “You drink?” be coy -

say, “Not now - I took the cure.”

By the way, I meant to ask you,

a point I won’t belabor,

d'ye know a pair named Montagu?

They're to be 'oor brand new neighbors.

(To be continued).
