I blinked as I stepped out of the small plane and into the harsh sunlight. Palm trees lined the runway and I wondered how they could survive this sweltering heat. It was hot back home, but it was just horrible down here. Dad said it was because we were nearer to the equator and I was suddenly thankful for the loose tank top and shorts.

Brody reached for my hand as he snuck another one of those glares at Charlie. My hand lay in his for a short time while Charlie grabbed my bag from the luggage cart. I pulled my hand from his rough one and reached for my bag in Charlie's hand. He waved my hand away and placed his hand on my back, pushing me forward slowly. He returned Brody's glance with a smirk of his own, while Brody stood there with his mouth in a slight "O" and his eyebrows raised. I pulled myself from Charlie's hand, although his warm grasp made me hesitate. There was sometime about his dark curly hair and green mesmerizing eyes. The dress store!

"That's it!" I said quietly and clapped as the thought hit my mind. Brody and Charlie jumped at the sudden noise and interrupted their glaring game with raised eyebrows.

"Oh, sorry." I said as I snuck another glance at Charlie. Yep; that's where I knew him from. He knew I knew him, too. He caught my look and grinned. I rolled my eyes and stepped into the air-conditioned airport.

We walked over to meet my dad, Ashley and Melanie at the rent-a-car counter. Ashley greeted his cousin with a handshake and hugged Melanie.  Charlie extended his hand for my dad and shook it kindly.

"You must be Ashley's cousin, Charlie. Nice to meet you." My dad said, and Charlie nodded. I noticed Brody roll his eyes. What did he have against Charlie other than her had been hitting on me? Actually, that was probably it.

"Y'all want to ride together?" my dad asked, and without letting anybody decline, he handed Charlie the keys. I groaned quietly, I didn't want to ride with either of them.

Before I knew it, Melanie was pulling my arm toward the lot of cars.

"What's y'all's number?" she asked and I told her it was 15D. "I didn't know Charlie was on y'all's baseball team," she said.

 "Wait, what?" I asked, stopping.

"He's the guy from the dress shop, right?" she raised her eyebrow, questioning my older statement.

"Oh, yeah." I said, remembering the fact. We started walking again and then we arrived at 15D with Brody and Charlie behind us. My eyes widened at the pink convertible, then I began to laugh as I pointed at Brody.

"Have fun riding in this." And his face was just as priceless as mine was.

"I can ride in this.... thing," he boasted on his manly ego and stuck out his chest. He strode to the pink car. "I'd like to see you try it," he pointed at me.

"Ha ha, very funny. I know you're thankin' your lucky star you ain't driving it." I retorted. I turned to my side and said, "Please Mel, let me ride with you and Ashley!" They even got a truck.

"Sorry sis, only a two seater." she squeezed my hand and her white lace dress flowed behind her as she jumped into the black Chevy with her husband. I slid into the back seat of the cotton candy colored car. I let Brody slide into the other side; I clearly knew he would probably punch Charlie if he sat in the front. The car roared to life and we pulled out behind everybody else.
