Please leave tips and suggestions on my sotry and I hope y'all like it!

As I drove behind Annie's truck, I found myself scowling when I glanced at the rear view mirror. My face softened when I realize I couldn't stay mad at her. I loved her but it wasn't her fault somebody stopped us when you lips were so close. I hit the steering wheel with my palm in anger and winced in pain. I drove in silence for a couple of minutes, staring at the back it Annie's truck, wishing I hadn't gotten mad and deserted in frustration.

Suddenly, a beep and flashing light jolted me from my wishes. Damn, my oil was low. I pulled over and sighed as Annie's truck vanished over the hill.

Hours later, and many changes to oil and everything else, I was on my way back to my home, to Annie, the ranch. I snapped the radio on and "What hurts the most" by Rascal Flatts flickered to life. Probably now the theme song to my pathetic life. God, she was so close and I couldn't even tell her how I felt. She always pulled away, hopefully because she didn't want to ruin our friendship and not because she didn't like me.

Finally, I saw the "Kickin Cowboy Ranch" sign and turned onto the gravel driveway. My boots crunched and they hit the ground and pounded towards the front door. He house was silent as I had expected except for the creaks of the old country house.

I swung open the back door and scanned the audience for Annie's face. I began to hurdle myself towards her when I noticed a man grab Anna's waist from behind her. I stood, frozen by the scene, horrified. Was this why she didn't want to kiss me? She had somebody better then me? I pushed the thoughts that clouded me from my mind and concentrated on the scene before me. Maybe they didn't even know each other.

He pulled her towards the dance floor but hoping the stubborn Anna I knew would shine through; She would dig her boots into the grass.

Anna almost moved but she hesitated and held her ground. Even though she held plates in her hands, the stranger reached out and kissed her hand from behind.

As the stranger wandered over towards me, I slipped into the house, hoping he never saw me. He followed me however, I guess he noticed me staring. I dragged my hopeless body into the kitchen and leaned against the island and took a sip of the water glass next to me.

"She is fine." he rolled, practically drooling while staring at her thought the kitchen window. How I wanted to agree, but he would not talk to my Annie that way, even if she wasn't officially "mine". My eyes snapped from her to the stranger's green, slanting eyes.

"Pardon me?" I growled, my eyes narrowing into a scowl.

"I said she's hot. She yours?" he says his mouth curving into a smirk.

"I wish." I almost said but I stopped myself and replied with an "it's complicated,".

He smiled, showing his gleaming teeth, and slapped me on the back, laughing.
