"Oof, well for starters..." I trailed off to clear my throat. "You realize that's private and personal information, do you?" I narrowed my eyes while crossing my arms and legs.

Jack shrugged and placed a plate of two strips of bacon, an egg, and one slice of toast.

Slightly burnt.

Jack then placed another plate filled with the same food on mine on his placemat while sitting down. He looked up at me, giving me a stern look.

"If you don't want to talk about it, we can talk about mine then," he sassed.

Jack picked up his fork and started poking at the egg with the utensil. His left cheek rested on his clenched hand and his eyes were locked on the yellow yolk. He pouted like a stubborn two year old.

I sat in silence, daring not to touch anything. I sighed, "What do you want to know, then?"

Jack stayed in the position he was. Then his eyes slowly looked up at me. His blue eyes looked as though they were sparkling again.

"I know you'll feel uncomfortable after I ask you this but, who was your first love as a child?" Jack asked.

...oh. The puzzle pieces are together.

"Yeah, I did. His name was... Jack. But he told me to call him Seán. It's funny because you remind me of him. Quite scary too."

Jack's eyes widened and his face redden. He dropped his fork, making a loud noise on the plate. "Wh-Wha—?!"

I blinked a few times.

Jack placed his hand over his mouth and looked away. "Was it something I said?"

"N-No," Jack said, his voice muffled inside his hand.

The puzzle was complete.

"May I ask you something now, Jack?"

Jack looked back up, his pale skin was returning, his face wasn't as red as before. "Ask away," he replied.

"Who or what was that picture of, that you took away from me? I was just—"

"It's you and I as kids."

"Excuse me?"

"Yes. We knew each other as kids."

"Hold on."

A/N: Since your character is just beginning to understand that the two of you knew each other, it's quite mind-boggling. That's why your character reacts like this.

"Y/N. It's me. Seán McLoughin. The kid who was bullied for my high-pitched voice. You were the small kid that never really spoke, until you did but for me in class. Don't you remember?"

"Jack, I—"

I felt frozen solid.

"I need some time, I'm sorry," I got up from the table, gave a quick peace sign, and walked into my room.

"Y/N! No! I-I'm sorry!"

BANG.

I slammed the door behind me, locking it too. How can I just let this sink in? I have to think through all of this.
