Unclothe Our Heart

---
Upon this pinnacle we stand,
Continuous struggles to achieve;
Wounds we wear for life’s demand
Existence offers no reprieve,
---
Negative thoughts are evil’s den,
Anxieties venomous fangs denigrate,
Our soul’s blood delivers a piercing omen;
Future failures floodgate?
---
Poison’s vinegar oozes from every pore,
Coincidence? Grasping edges
In time we envisioned life as more
And palpitations educe a moment’s dredge.
---
Deep within oceans floor are sediments we ignore,
Stratum’s barbed memories veiled in shadowed wedges,
Buttresses events craft contour;
Our upward arching essence creates cruxes.
---
We achieve; we regret a constant wavering
To and fro, a gale ensues toppling us from our perch begrudged
And on bended knee we plead end this eternal wading
Through murky bogs of doubt soiled and smudged.
