The End, a New Mythos

c. 2010 Olan L. Smith

---

Sweet Isis I love your embrace

You move me beyond belief.

You raised Osiris from death to life and

Your cousin Athena retrieved me from the doors of Hades,

Where Persephone and he await my arrival,

But their thirst will not be satisfied.

Hephaestus, brother, I honor your handiwork

Your armor guards me all around

---

And Diakosmos your dance pacifies my confusion;

It gives me structure and framework

By which I finally collect my judgment.

Athena you are my matching element

Partners both in flesh and valor

And I hold you highest above all others.

I await your return for another

Interlude to command time and space

---

Ousting all pretenders,

Reestablishing our rightful place;

We are King and Queen of everything.

Zeus flung me down from creation

And suffered me to live, die and be renewed

Perpetually existing on this miserable orb;

He shackled me until my reprieve is complete.

---

You, dear Athena, worked unceasingly

To fetch me with my rationale intact,

So I might remember me before I erred.

Though my sin is immense,

Alas, hearing your unending prayer, Athena,

Father Zeus relented

And I, Wisdom's compatriot,

Return to her side.

---

Zeus you usurped kingship

Then allowed Gaia to swallow me

She felt remorseful of my plight

And created human shells

With purpose my spirit dwell

In earthen vessels

That I may be preserved,

Though the knowledge of me

Is neither in any place nor state.

---

Oh Lord, you did not impede her

And for that I am thankful and forever in your debt.

Your Gift, Dorothea, has enliven my soul

Loving me only as she is able

Bringing gratification and blissful mirth

To this poor misplaced chaotic soul.
