Tale of a Blue Fae

Nary eighteen inches high a fae lit upon my breast;

Her blue visage, fair―her arms, like wings swiftly fluttered,

This unyielding apparition divinely redressed:

TITANIA:

"You were mine, the goddess filched you while I rest―

I was your sovereign lover, queen

But the brigand goddess of porticos plucked you

From above capturing my crest―

I am Empress Titania!  You are Oberon my king.

The Abysmal Mother wed us, bringing light to the shadows;

You are Helios, I am Luna and by this

Thievery, Alinda did rob humanity of peace, for in our union

Darkness had no sheathe to cloak its malice

 And henceforth it roams liberally, I draw nearer

To recoup my husband's hand.  I reassert my argument―

Through us the chaos is assured order―

We are the dance of Earth.  Why in my waning do you leave?"

OBERON:

"My dearest wee one, though our marriage was arranged

The Balcony of the Gods was prior,

She is foremost and author.

What was is past, and what will be is forevermore proper,

I am in my abode, Mother blocks you from my view―

The very nursery that expelled me is my home.

Though I am distant from you our love is strong;

Your obligation is to Earth, mine

Is to the Universe, and in a far-flung flash

I will return to overwhelm you."
