Naomi felt as if her mind was having a civil war. She was just about to leave the school and she couldn't decide if she was going home or going to Darryl's. She was honestly still mad at him and even though Naomi's plan worked out as well as it did, she somehow felt as if it backfired. She would be lying to herself if she believed the sole reason for her plan was for revenge for his immature prank, but she knew all too well that her motive became void as soon as his tongue made contact with hers and his spark-ignited touch made contact with her electrified body. C'mon Naomi. Let's not get too carried away, Naomi thought as she exited the school into the pouring rain. She blew out an unsteady breath as she drew out her glossy, blue umbrella, keeping herself dry under the thick, gray sky. She headed out, home bound, hoping and praying that maybe someone or something will give her a sign along the way. She was just about to pull out her iPod from her bag to drown out the booming thunder overhead, until she heard a faint voice behind her call out, "Naomi!"

She turned as she peered through the thick fog able to see a figure moving swiftly towards her. "Wait up!" the voice shouted even louder. It was a male's voice, and from what she could see he was running through the rain, umbrella-free.

"Miles?" she asked in disbelief as he got close enough. It was as if he hadn't cared that it was raining, letting the warm rainfall seep through his clothes. Even though he looked frantic and insane with the way he was bent over panting and water dripping of his slender nose, she couldn't help but moon over the way his wet clothes clung to his defined body. She waited for him compose himself , before she shook her head in amused disbelief.

"I've been looking forward to talk to you all day." he said in between uneven breaths.

"Miles, take a breath," she laughed, "It's pouring! Where's your jacket or at least an umbrella?" she commented laughing and gesturing to his less than nothing attempt to shield himself from the down pour. She didn't care about his attire really, she just didn't want him catching her staring at the way the rain water trickled along his bronze-colored skin. He didn't say a word, he mostly stared as if thinking about something that was bothering him. "Wait," Naomi started, being attentive, "What did you want to see me for?"

She wasn't expecting him to kiss her, but he did. And just like a second nature, memories of Friday night flooded back through her head of when he first kissed her, a kiss she always hoped for since the day she met him. She remembered the excitement she felt the moment his lips touched hers, and the pain when he scurried off with Tameeka. This kiss was more patient than before, more gentle and sweet as if he was trying to tell her something without actually saying it. Her heart flipped as he cradled her head in his hands rubbing either sides of her cheeks with his thumbs, deepening the kiss. This is it! This is my sign! she thought as she giggled.

"What?" Miles asked as he pulled away giving her the same grin her was giving him. "I should ask you the same question." she said awkwardly. "Wait. Did Jazzy or Nathan talk you into this?" Naomi asked with a raised brow. Miles laughed again as he leaned in to peck her lips once more. "Trust me, I don't need my cousin or his girlfriend to know when I've been a jackass yesterday." he said sincerely. Naomi couldn't help but grin like a clown.

"Can I walk you home before I have to head back to practice?" he offered as he took her hand and started walking. She adjusted herself so that his tall, muscular figure would fit under her miniature umbrella. There was a peaceful silence between them, with only the rain beating against her umbrella the only sound heard. Naomi didn't mind however, as she focused on the warmth of his hands and fingers entwined with hers.

"I just wanted to apologize for what happened on Friday night." he pardoned squeezing her hand. "There's really no excuse legitimate enough that explains what happened. I should have ignored Tameeka, and stayed with you all night. Like I promised." he said as he offered a sheepish smile.
