when i met you you were white - pale and translucent and everything in between, a real simple color
when we linked arms, you were green, lying and dubious and wet
and like the algae in the ocean, you lacked a true stem, shoved tubes up your everywhere because you were so dehydrated
when you left me you were golden glowing like the sun and gleaming like the moon, striking envy in every other girl with those puppy-dog shit eyes
