"And seek for the truth in the groves of academe" - Horace
In the deepest groves of academe,
Where truth and success lie,
The fight for knowledge that reigns supreme,
The life of the scholar is passing him by.
Spending such long hours immersed in books,
From page to page, from cover to cover,
Not having the time to glance up and look
At life: son, daughter, father and mother.
Having spent years in study and toil,
Truth is yet to show its face,
One learns it lies in life's great coil,
A spring that's sprung in time and place.
Savouring life is often mislead,
Pursuing fruits of knowledge - a ploy,
Look up from your studies every now and again,
All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy!
