After the drama of escaping, I begin to feel a sharp pain in my back.
"Ugh.. I think I bruised my back. It's killing me."
He checks me over, gently patting my back.
His shocked face stares at his hand as he lifts it, blood drips down from it.
"Dammit! You landed on a rock or something."
He bandages my wound and hugs me.
"Hey, I'm fine."
"If you didn't ignore me it wouldn't have happened. Stupid, reckless girl."
I groan and shut my eyes.
"I can knock you out if it's that bad."
"I'm fine."
He leans in to kiss me, but I push him away.
"Stop it. Look. I'm not as gifted as you. If we fall in love, it'll break your heart when I die."
He grits his teeth and tears form in his eyes.
"I won't let you die. As long as I'm alive, I'll always be by your side."
I hug him and smile.
"Way to make me feel weak."
"You're not weak. You're mine."
