To the beautiful and nice DanaScully for agreeing to be the editor of this error-filled and headache-causing book. Thank you so much for patiently editing my long chapters and trying to make this messy draft a very presentable chapter. I am having so much fun while working with you so I hope you won't get fed up with me. Haha! Thank you again and I love you! <3

PHOEBE

"Is he there?"

Keenan's Delta, Bryan, looked up at me from behind the beer counter at the dining room of their pack house. He was holding a shot glass in his right hand and an almost-emptied bottle of liquor in his left. "Hey, Luna! I think he just came in."

I cringed when he swayed on his seat slightly, his auburn hair sticking to his forehead because of sweat. "Did he have a meeting again? It's already past midnight."

Isaiah just came earlier, saying - with so much chagrin - that he had a meeting with the elders, including Keenan. I tried calling him, but he wouldn't pick up. Curious of my boyfriend's activities lately, I couldn't stop myself from going to the Licorice's territory to see him. Where could he be when their meeting was already over two hours ago?

"I don't know. Maybe he went with some girls," Bryan replied, his voice already swirly from drunkenness, before winking at me. "Your brother's not the only playboy in the vicinity, you know."

"Bry, your voice's too loud."

I whipped my head to see Tim, Keenan's Beta, entering the room. His expression was more worried than annoyed. Well, I hadn't seen him angry before. He could almost always find something laughable with everything; he was such a total opposite to his Alpha.

He turned to me. "Sorry, he's like that 'cause he's been dumped by a girl again," he explained.

I frowned, remembering that Bryan was known to be very impatient to find for his mate. He was so envious of those who were already mated so he was going to parties every night, hoping to see his soul mate there. But strangely, he always ended up being rejected by girls he made any moves to.

"If you're looking for Keenan he's upstairs, Fi. But I think it's not a good time to-"

"Really? He's there? Thanks!" I said, not letting him finish speaking. There was never a bad time for a girl to see her boyfriend. Never.

I fled for the door, suddenly excited to see Keenan. But before I exited, I faced Tim and frowned. "And stop calling me that name! It's super ungirly!"

As I ascended the steps, I made out the laughter of Tim from the dining room, making me roll my eyes to myself. He was too easy to please.

After reaching the top floor, I almost stumbled from my hastiness to open the pair of large, wooden doors. His room was blocked with some incantations or something that hindered anyone from smelling who was inside. It was perhaps for the privacy of the meetings held there that only the Alpha and few significant people knew.

If truth be told, I hated staying in his room. It was empty and just kept me lonely. Only Keenan gave life to that barren room.

As soon as I stepped inside, my wolf rejoiced after sensing a familiar dominant and powerful aura coming from a distance. I couldn't help but smile. I walked slowly until my eyes fell on the bed at the center.

With only a bedside lamp lighting the room, Keenan was lying down on his stomach, his face directed towards the other side of the wall. Pants were the only clothes clinging on his body, leaving his upper body naked and exposed to my eyes.
