What are the odds?

BREAKING NEWS:

Dialogue: "A blue Sedan crashed before falling from a cliff and erupting into flames on November 21. There were said to have 3 passengers, who have deceased from the flames, to have been apart of a kidnapping of Isabella Brown. Brown is an eighteen year old senior at Willington High School, who was reportedly kidnapped from her eighteenth birthday party. Foul play was reported as her friend of a few years, Jacob Perez was reported to be kidnapped alongside Brown. Perez's body has not been discovered, but a recent interview from Brown herself uncovers a shocking discovery. According to Brown, the blue sedan that fell from the cliff was to have held Jacob Perez.

We're unable to prove this statement, but false hope is still alive as the body of Jacob Perez has not been confirmed or possibly discovered. Our prayer, and our love goes out to the families of Isabella Brown and Jacob Perez as the tragic event has possibly changed the life of way to many! That's all for today, I'm Gina Giordano and you're watching channel 5 action news."

3 years later.

November 20, 2017

I walked out of the student union of New York University. I moved far away from Utah, once I discovered I was being accepted into NYU. This was my break from it all and I was able to start over and forget everything that had every happened to me. I haven't talked to anyone from home in over a year. Not even my own mother and father. I just needed to forget.

Today is November 20 and tomorrow was my birthday, Saturday November 21st. The worst day of my life that's supposed to be a . . . celebration of my birth-day.

"Hey Isabella." My eyes lifted to meet those of a Latina, with dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes. She was very pretty and some might even call her a bitch, but that's why we clicked. I'm the good cop and she's the bad cop, I mean that's the best way I can explain our friendship.

Behind her was her boyfriend of 6 years. They have been dating since their junior year in high school back in Brooklyn. Her name was Lisa Hernandez and his was Angel Mendoza. They were pretty perfect together and I sometimes envy the relationship they have. "Hey Lisa-- Angel." I waved.

They pushed their way past a few people before the got to me, "Hey, do you have any plans after your last class tonight?" She questioned.

I narrowed my eyes onto her. "Uh, no. Do you guys have something planned?" I asked.

Lisa turned to Angel with a huge expression on her face. "Uh yes, and we would love if you would come with us to this great restaurant about a few blocks from here. It's a little party and it'll only be a few hours. Por favor, venga, que no será lo mismo sin ti hermosa!" She pleaded.

[A/N: Translation: Please, it wouldn't be the same without you beautiful.]

I smiled at her eagerness. "How can I say no... when I have no idea what you just said."

She laughed loudly, "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!" She squealed. "I just said, it wouldn't be the same without you." She smiled at me.

"Alright. I have a class to get to, so I'll call you later." I asked more than stated.
