Serena's POV
I sprinted down the dark streets of Gotham. It was raining outside, and I was in a t-shirt and sweatpants. I knew I wouldn't last a night. I didn't care though. I hated Uncle Jim. He ignored all of my Dad's texts and calls. He acted like we didn't exist.
I had been running for at least 15 minutes straight when I bumped into something hard.
"Ow." I groaned.
"Watch it." A girl growled.
I looked up and a girl about a year older than me stood there.
"I'm really sorry. I ran away and-" I started.
"Save it." The girl growled and began to walk away.
"Wait!" I grabbed her arm.
"Please! Let me stay the night with you. I have no where to go. Please. And then I'll be gone, I swear." I pleaded.
"Will you let go of my arm if I said yes?" She asked.
I grinned, tears falling down my face. I must have looked like a wet dog in the rain.
"Yes." I cried.
"Then fine." She said.
I let go.
"But only one night." The girl warned.
I nodded.
"I'm Serena." I said.
"Selena." She said.
