Serena's POV
I sat down on my bed with Barbara, and Uncle Jim sat in the chair in my room. Weird huh, how I was closer to his fiancé rather then my uncle himself. Honestly, I preferred Barbara over him. She was so nice, and funny.
"What exactly happened?" Uncle Jim asked.
I took a deep breath.
"There was this man. He took his parent's money, and his mom's necklace, and then he shot them." I quickly said.
"He didn't aim at you and Bruce?" He asked.
I shook my head.
Barbara pulled me close to her.
"I'm going to figure out who did this." Uncle Jim said.
"I want to help!" I said, jolting up.
"It's too dangerous!" Uncle Jim and Barbara said at the same time.
"I need to help." I insisted.
"No Serena. You need to stay here, and get better." Uncle Jim said.
"I am better. I wasn't shot." I snapped.
"Mentally! That's what I meant. Don't argue." Uncle Jim said.
I felt anger fill inside of me. I got up and started walking toward him as he was leaving.
"Why not?! You've always ignored me my whole entire life! Scratch that! You ignored everyone! I never saw you! Never once! I didn't even know who Barbara was until yesterday!" I yelled.
"I was busy." Uncle Jim said.
"Busy enough to forget my dad and my birthday? Sure." I growled.
"Serena, it's not-" Uncle Jim started.
"No, just stop. I never wanted to live with you in the first place! I hate you!" I yelled and shoved passed him.
"Serena!" Uncle Jim yelled.
I sprinted toward the door and opened it.
Then I sprinted outside.
