11. The Alpha
In werewolf stories, the male protagonist MUST be the Alpha. Truth be told, I have no idea what the fuck that means. In fact, all I've gotten from werewolf stories is that:
1. The Alpha has anger management issues
2. He's so overprotective of his 'mate', it's actually very disturbing
3. Everyone fears him and worships him like he's the best thing since mac and cheese
4. He has to growl "MINE!' then proceeds to 'mark' his 'mate'. Lol bitch no.
I think it's pretty obvious that I don't know shit about werewolves. What I do know is that werewolves don't transform voluntarily. IT ONLY OCCURS ON A FULL MOON.
Not a crescent moon, not a sunny morning, A FULL MOON.
And it isn't pretty. It's pretty fucking painful, from what I know. You don't just will yourself into becoming this hairy-ass animal, okay?
I've noticed this is more of a rant than it is an explanation of the stereotype. But, honestly, what is there to explain? I think I've covered all with the 4 points I have above.
