For the amazing comment :) <3

So here's chapter two :) Hope you like it! It's pretty short, but I think people like bite sized chapters to be honest. Easier to read :P Oh, and I would love to hear your thoughts on Eli, do you think he's creepy or cute? :D :D

“No, guys, you don’t understand, this was different,”

Jeddah dipped her finger into the cream that was swirled to perfection on the top of her chocolate sundae.

“What do you mean different?” She asked, popping her finger into her mouth.

I pushed my own sundae across the table, as appealing as it looked; I wasn’t in the mood for ice cream. Such a waste too, it looked delicious. Why did Jeddah have to order me something so expensive?

“It was…” I paused, gazing at my jandals through the glass table top, “I don’t know, it just didn’t seem … right.”

Serenity laughed, “Well of course it didn’t seem right!” She gasped, a little too loud for my liking. An elderly couple sitting next to us looked up with a look of disgust, I could almost read their thoughts –‘ugh, teenagers, so loud and obnoxious, never care about anyone but themselves’.

“It didn't seem right because you were in Eli’s ring of fire!” she continued, “girls barely ever get that close to him, especially not when they’re alone. He must like you, like, like you like you.” She winked, her sparkly eyelid flashing silver.

I couldn’t help but shake my head.

“No, it wasn’t like that, it was kind of …creepy?” I winced at the word.

Serenity rolled her eyes, “Says the girl who’s never had a boyfriend,” she flicked her platinum blonde hair from her face, “you don’t have the experience to work out what he was trying to tell you, usually when a guy whispers your name like that it's becaus he-”

“-Love isn’t supposed to be a cryptic code you have to decipher,” I butted in, feeling pretty proud of myself. I’d never even liked a guy before –excluding celebrities of course –but I thought my statement sounded pretty pro, “when it’s there, you feel it,” I continued, “what I felt coming from him was not love."

Jeddah sniggered, “Cute,” she said, “but I think you’re right, you’re not really someone I’d consider to be Eli’s… type.”

Serenity scoffed, “That’s rich, coming from the girl who hasn’t even gotten a wink from him. I don’t know about you Grace, but I smell Jealousy.” She gave Jeddah a small glare, but Jeddah just rolled her eyes.

I couldn’t help but laugh. Jeddah was always the one who’d considered herself to be the guy magnet of our group, but, like me she’d never had a boyfriend. Her excuse was that ‘no one was good enough’ but we all knew truth. She was full of herself and her expectations were far too high. She still carried around the thought that her prince Charming would just waltz right up and sweep her into his arms, but I think deep down she knew she was kidding herself.
