I sighed and waited patiently for Sasuke to arrive.

When Karin stood, I knew that he was approaching.

“Quickly.” Sasuke coaxed as he wrapped his arm around my waist and jumped away, Karin behind us. As I looked him over, I noticed that his arm was slightly burned,

“S-Sasuke!” I stuttered, “Who did you fight?!” He grunted,

“A guy named Deidara.” I blinked,

“Deidara? You fought him?” I asked, slightly surprised that Sasuke was even alive right now,

“Hai, now quick, we can’t stay here long.” I went to look behind me, but Sasuke jerked me to look forward again, “Don’t look back.” He demanded,

“Um, alright…” I was starting to get a little nervous, what can be so bad that he doesn’t want me to even turn and look back?

Soon after we exited to forest area, there was an ear piercing explosion. I screamed as Sasuke dived from the trees and covered me as rocks and branches flew at us,

“What’s going on!?” I yelled as the ringing in my ears deafened me,

“He blew himself up.” Sasuke whispered in my ear. I shot up with wide eyes,

“WHAT?!”

“He blew himself up.” Sasuke repeated as he sat up with me. I stared at the ground for a few moments. In the few days that I was captured there, I’d grown close to the nine members, ESSPECIALLY Deidara, since he was the one who’s visit me the most, apart from Konan of course.

Eventually, it clicked in my head the Deidara was dead. A sort of numbness washed over me. I sighed and stood up,

“Alright,” I started, “Let’s go.” Sasuke nodded and stood with me, just as we did, Karin, Suigetsu, and a man who had bright orange hair appeared,

“We’re being pursued.” The orange haired man stated. Sasuke just nodded,

“Lets go.” I looked at him,

“Where are you going to take me?” I whispered, staring into his beautiful onyx eyes, which were observing me carefully.

Sasuke, without saying a word, lifted me gently into his arms bridal style and shot off. I pursed my lips at his odd behaviour,

“Why are you being so gentle?” I snapped, almost offended. Sasuke just smirked, glancing down at me with an amused expression,

“Because you look so breakable.” If another person were carrying me, they would’ve said it with a concerned voice. Like Naruto, for instance. I would be grateful that they cared, but it was Sasuke’s cockiness that made me want to prove him otherwise.

“Put me down!” I whined, flailing my arms and legs about, purposely making it difficult for him to carry me.

“Gah! Don’t do that to Sasuke! You should be happy that Sasuke is even-“

“Shut up Karin.” Sasuke snapped, before stopping dead in his tracks. Karin nervously played with her glasses without saying another word. Suigetsu laughed loudly,

“You got told!”

“Shut up, you baka!” Karin yelled as she punched him over the head. I heard her let out a sound of disgust as Suigetsu’s head turned to water. This just made him laugh even louder.

Sasuke gently placed my feet onto the ground, I bit my lip at the unfamiliar feel of the branch beneath my feet. Sasuke then took out a kunai, panic welled in me for a few seconds, before I realised he was just cutting the hem of the white kimono I was wearing.
